  1. Not true, the program wasn't playing pong at superhuman levels. Everyone who plays pong knows that it is good to dig a tunnel and put the ball behind it. The only thing that humans lack is the hand eye coordination to do that all the time. Though in my youth there were some guys that could do it lots of the time. The AI has no hand eye coordination, so it is an unfair comparison it merely puts the paddle where it needs to go digitally, it doesn't need to develop a skill, just a strategy.
