And really not much chance of them getting into the USA without tariffs. Don't know where you are getting your figures from, but Tesla delivered 100,200 EVs in China in November -- BYD sold 90k EVs in China in November. Your figures must have come from the CCP or Reuters or some other FUD packers. The problem with BYD is not sales, it is the CCP. There are big questions as to whether or not China will evern exist as it is now in another ten years. Peter Zeihan, the political demographer that predicted the invasion of Ukraine five years before it happened claims that China will self-destruct before the decade is out. Many of these operative went to work for the RNC. Just by "coincidence" the Arabs embargoed oil, just by coincidence the US embassy in Iran was attacked and the staff taken hostage. Just by "coincidence" the rescue mission was a failure. Just by coincidence the US economy went into a tail spin and there were lines of cars for miles at gas stations IF that had any gas, and lines around the block at the SS offices nationwide. Just by coincidence the hostages in Iran were released the day Ronald Reagan won the election. Just by coincidence the man who had been the head of the CIA was his vice president, and the future POTUS. You are already seeing where the economy is going. Get ready for a real recession. One that will make the public squeal with pain. That is how they got rid of Carter, who was at least an honest man, and that is how they are going to get rid or Trump and his flunkys -- wholesale. I will be amazed if both Trump and Vance live for another four years. They done F'd with the wrong people, and you can already see where this is going.   11.  @brendanpells912  Hope they never do that, but instead continue to reduce the weight, and offer more performance options as packages. I think most of the people you are referring to as racers hate teslas for some irrational reason and buy ICE vetts and Dodge Demons and such, though I can see the distaste for how heavy EVs are in general.

Their resounding comment when people predict the future is that these prognosticators still have fundamental space/time issues to even have a clue about. Baring the use of extra-galactic remote tachyonic technology leveling surveys or EGRTTLS (which will not be developed until 2134) they assert quite confidently that accurate predictions of future events, even for those who unlike you relatives have all associated data on a subject including unpublished, unreported, and secret proprietary data, have no ability to predict the future more accurately than the original Magic Eight Ball.

  20.  @JoelBergmark  It's funny that to my knowledge their has been one battery fire death in a Tesla that was driven into a tree at ninety miles an hour by a drunk driver. This was reported on the cable news channels on an hourly basis. Of course that same year over three hundred and fifty people died in ICE fires in the USA and there were over a hundred thousand fires reported in ICE in the USA alone, yet there was not one mention of this in the same media that obsessed over the Tesla fire. If they are so "explosive" where are all the deaths? The news would love to know, so it could punish Tesla for not paying to advertise with them.

Tesla gets none of its lithium from Bolivia, but has huge interests in Australia, which makes far more sense logistically, politically, and Lithium Australia just invented a process that derives 95% of the lithium from raw materials without heat and far less pollution. If I were Tesla I would buy that company yesterday. That's the problem with Twitter, sarcasm and irony are often taken for their opposite. When all cars are FSD and networked together then there will be no further need for traffic signals and traffic will flow, and the public will save billions of dollars on brakes, gas or kws, insurance, collision repair and wear and tear because no cars will be stopping when it is unnecessary. No more stops signs, no more red lights at 2 am with no other cars in sight.

  29. They are "sales" and typically the OEM will finance the dealers new car inventory at sweet-heart interest rates or even rebates on finance charges. They don't "dump" the cars at dealerships, the manager/s spec them out and order what they guess will sell best at their store.

Dealerships, and dealership investors just sluice money into the coffers of politicians and in turn the politician protect the dealerships from competition from internet sales.
