  1. Tesla's continual optimization of all components of their EVs makes it kind of ridiculous to try to time a purchase to include the latest improvements. No matter when you buy, in the next week there will be further improvements, so you may as well just buy when you want a car (in a few months) because if you are waiting for the ultimate model Y or whatever, you will be waiting forever.

  2.  @donreinke5863  That makes a lot of sense if you are poor. So if you are poor it is indeed foolish. Not so much for anyone with a middle class or higher income. And at a certain income level, buying a cheap car becomes foolish if you can easily afford the car you really want.

  3. Would you say that if there was a five percent price decrease you would buy? If the answer is yes, then go ahead. Compared to the cheapest new model 3 that was ever availible (2017 $35k) the present lowest cost model3 is 5.16% cheaper in inflation adjusted dollars: at $40,390. If we keep going like this, Teslas will be virtually free at a hundred thousand 😂😂

  4. I would bet that Tesla will only lower its prices if by some miracle a competitor begins to catch up to Tesla's tech, and charges substantially less than Tesla. If you know of an OEM that meets these parameters please let me know as I may be interested in a purchase. Realistically I will probably just feel compelled to point out how and why your suggestion does not met the first requirement, and if it does, then the price will be out of the ball park.
