  1. Don't know about where you live, but where I live they repave the roads every few years because they need to. All of a sudden I can see the expense of this regular maintenance skyrocketing. Also kind of wonder what would be the effect and cost when some nimrod (propably the same guy who rolled coal on your Tesla) decides to start doing burnouts with tungsten spiked snow tires? I can attest that this is particularly damaging, because at the age of 16 I managed to actually rip up the asphalt for about a half block with my 69 Z28 by trying to lay rubber with new studded tires. This left deep grooves in the road witch eventually filled up with water that froze and over one winter a new asphalt road was basically ruined.
