The main reason that certain mods are not allowed in most racing is because they allow the cars to corner at such speed that if their is some glitch, driver error or other screw-up, then someone may well die.

You got the reason they are banned right, not so much about who invented the "fan" car. It was invented by the same guy who invented the wing that you see behind most purpose built or modified race cars -- Jim Hall. He invented the "fan" car in 1970. He's from Texas, which in some areas may resemble Argentina just a little bit, but they are rather far apart geographically.

Short races like hill climbs utilize all the benefits of electrics. A 24 hr race is a different story -- for now. . . .

@lesliecarter4295 Pretty cool, for a hybrid. But the hybrid part is not the fuel and motors, it is the battery. They add hydrogen but don't burn it. They use it to generate electricity to help power the motors. So really, wouldn't it have been more efficient and less complex to just do battery swaps during a race? They, could possibly just take seconds if fully automated for application in a racing scenario. One thing for sure, no sanctioned event is going to allow any "fan" cars to compete. Maybe someday there will be a breakthrough in the skirt material that will allow it to sort of terrain-follow on a micro level to maintain low pressure. Even the Speirlng's use of redundant fans won't matter if for any reason the skirt looses its seal in a turn.
