Consider this: if isis had sensor fused, and enhanced radiation weapons like the neutron bomb like the progressive cultures do, would they use them? We do, but we haven't. The USA could completely obliterated isis and leave the infrastructure standing, but it hasn't done this. The USA could drop one sensor fused weapon on one of those idiotic caravans of trucks and armor and destroy them all, but they haven't done it. In fact the USA has dozens of ways that it could destroy everyone in the isis controlled zones and it has refrained. What would these idiots who have no thoughts outside of the propaganda of cancerous religious mimes do if they had this power. Only idiots try to reason with mad dogs, and all fundamentalist are mad dogs. Just take a look at the Jewish fundamentalist who stabed a gay woman to death for being gay the other day. These friggin' brain damaged idiots of all stripes must be shown for what they are -- functionally insane.

You do not realize how brilliant what is happening in the middle east is. The civilized world gets a whole lot of radicalized fundamentalist madmen from all over the world in one place so they are easier to find and kill, and they are footing the recruitment and travel expenses themselves. If I were heading the campaign against isis, I would let this go on as long as possible, and never really wipe them out, or completely destroy their ability to recruit and carry on military actions, so that I could continue to kill more of them. Which if you haven't noticed is exactly what is going on. As far as your theory that you can't fight a war against an idea is concerned: it is mostly just rhetoric. We are fighting against three dimensional living beings that by their own actions have proven conclusively that they deserve to die horrible and fiery deaths. It is working out better than can anyone could have hoped for.
