@danieldoyle7337 Nice theory, nice narrative, but in the USA the number one news channel, and the number one network overall is Fox News. So all the freedom of choice and information results in the majority of the population choosing the absolute worst source of news that is generally available. A network that lies not just in particular facts, but in the general narrative they present and the matrix of deception that the occasional fact is embedded in. It's not a matter of, "Their system sucks and ours is great." Both systems suck, and the average American's view of what is going on is at least as distorted as the average Chinese view, probably more, because instead of one great edifice of lies, we have a multitude of lying venues, calling each other lairs when in fact, people in America are not interested in the facts if the fact don't support what they like.
