  2.  @kronosaurelius  While Tesla makes more per vehicle than any other OEM other than Mercedes, Ford cannot produce an EV without losing money. The entire EV space is not equal in any metric. Just because a few other OEMs have wait times does not mean what you think it does. There is no equality between the traditional ICE OEMs that would rather not be producing EVs at all and Tesla. There is a big difference between a wait time for an OEM that produces 20k or so EVs and one that is on track to producing 1.5 million this year. Your reasoning is simplistic and the result of erroneous FUD.

  4.  @Destorrrrr  Way dude, Tesla is sold out. and it's orders have doubled in parts of the USA. If you buy a model3 LR it doesn't even take two years of driving to be less expensive than an ICE car that sells for 10k less, and from then on you are saving loads of money that you would have been giving to big oil. Many people are selling their Teslas for more than they paid for them and buying another Tesla, thinking they can drive it for two years and sell it for more than they paid for it. Maybe, maybe not. I guess you want a Tesla but can't afford it. Be patient. They will always retain value better than any other EV, but eventually you will see used Teslas for less than they are presently selling for. The average eight year old model S is still supposed to have 90% battery, so that may be a segment that will be undervalued in the future.

  7.  @cowymtber  Really. . . What is the best selling EV in China? It ain't BYD or Neo. If you want to lose your money invest in Neo. BYD cooks it's books and actually makes nothing on EVs. They also count their hybrids as EVs. Tesla model Y is by far the best selling EV in China, despite the competition because it is the best car by far.

  9. Tesla outsells German EVs in Germany by a mile, and until recently they were Chinese manufactured. That should tell you everything you need to know about the relative strengths of the respective products. The most advanced cars in all the world are now made in Germany (and Texas, and China) And they are just getting started. The implementation of FSD will have an impact greater than did the invention of the steam engine.

  15. Lol, how can these guys be so ignorant about the market. Many people are making EVs but Tesla is selling them. They are a generation beyond all the other OEMs. It's like comparing an F-14 to an F-22. Both are fine planes, but not really comparable. Tesla cars are a generation beyond all the others, and when the others get to where Tesla is now it will be further ahead then it is now because it innovates far faster than anyone else of size. 1.9 to 2.2 million SOLD this year.

I know, it's been one "Tesla killer" after another, and "game over" for years. lol At least they know who they have to beat, even though they have no chance at this point of even drawing near to Tesla. Most consumer satisfaction of all brands. Most people who now say their car is their most prized possession. An entirely new kind of possession that continually improves itself even after you purchase it. If they haven't driven a new Tesla for a few days they should just shut up, or go out and rent a Hertz Tesla and be converted.

That was the Tesla model S. And Tesla does not advertise, give free special magazine cars to be tested. From the standpoint of a long term investor, I have not one worry that Tesla will not be worth much more than it is now selling for in the future. Sort sellers are trading, that is different, most of them go negative over time unless they make a big hit and quit. The typical traders knowledge about Teslas performance as a company is delusionally negative. Probably mostly due to the fact that Tesla does not pay off the media by hundreds of millions in ad revenues every year like the traditonal OEMs. This is just a fact, every little negetive about Tesla, true or entirely fabricated, gets major media time, because they are trying o force Elon to give up the vig. He may well do it and start advertising, not because he needs the sales, but just to get the murderous pack of carrion eating media darlings to shut up and slink away with their golden crumbs.

The tradional gangster German oems spend millions on ads, Tesla does not advertise, and because of that the mass media gives them bad press they do not deserve continually, because Tesla will not give them the hundreds of millions that other OEMs pay up. But all that has to happen is someones friend or neighbor buys a Tesla, and they start telling them how much they love them. How it is now their prize possession that is on a new level. A generation ahead of all other EVs, just like the F-22 is a generation ahead of an F-16. How it is improved continually with OTA updates. And how Tesla is a superior company that does not cheat its customers like VW group. Not to mention your own admission that the manner in which it operates is far more efficient and forward looking, that is exactly why they have the advantage that you admit.

Second best VW model ID4 sold 6,790 units. Second best selling Tesla model Y sold 8,085. In fact Telsa model 3 sold more units than the four top selling VW group EVs combined. And noi the new Tesla plant in Germany is ramping up. So the cars will be built in Germany, and many of the parts are made in Germany even for American made Teslas, and large parts of the car were engineered in Germany, so that along with the fact that Tesla is the number one selling BEV in Europe, and the most desired throws a little factual light on your fantastic assumptions. All models sold for months in advance, your idea that Europeans don't trust American cars just falls apart. The quality of the Teslas made at the new plants is phenomenal, and we expect the Teslas built in Germany to be the best Teslas in the world, until Austin gears up. Then they wlll be some of the best Teslas built. Customer support could use some improvement, and that is just the nature of a business that is expanding so rapidly. I mean basically the ideas you expressed have no basis in reality. Unless you accept the yammerings of the commercial media and auto media as reality, and anyone who knows how the sausage is made with free junkets, and free cars, and free gas to reviewers, and hundreds of millions spent on advertising time and space in the same media that reviews cars, knows that Tesla doesn't do any of that. They do not advertise, they do not have special vehicles that they loan out for reviews and testing, which all other OEMs do, and they do not wine and dine the media. Surely you can figure out where you went wrong. It is a common mistake, that will be totally rectified when your neighbor buys a Tesla and tells you all about it. And you idea that everyone will be able to do over the air updates like Tesla now can, in a few years is a huge assumption, and nearly delusional based on the data to date. Tesla cars have one software dev, VW EVs have like hundreds of different software developers that they are trying to integrate, and not doing so well at it. Tesla is a different generation than all its competition and they will never catch up because Tesla innovates at a greater pace than any of them. In five years some will have caught up to were Tesla is now, but Tesla will be long gone. Solid gone. Tesla is one of two OEMS that have grown so far this year, this is a fact. Tesla just had a record production in June. The highest it ever had, 157k units DELIVERED in June.   54.  @kronosaurelius  BYD is doing OK lately. Starting to sell in Australia and other markets. Tesla produced 158,000 EVs in June alone. That's about half of what BYD did since the beginning of the year. BYD did not get shut down because of Covid, which helped. BYD has a lot going for it, too bad the US government hobbles their US electric bus business.

They are really the only Tesla centric YouTube channels worth following. Some other are half decent, but a ghastly number are nothing but click bait fantasies. Since beginning of the year, only Tesla, and Porsche, sales have not gone down. Tesla sales have increased dramatically, Porsche's just a little bit, Ford down eight percent, which is good compared to most OEMs. The main reason Tesla is valued so high is the potential for future earnings. Musk says FSD will be here this year -- his detractors say three decades or never. If FSD is finally approved for public use, when it is an order of magnitude safer than the average driver, many people fail to be able to visualize the effects this will have on civilization. We are talking about steam engine level disruption. Many think that other companies are well on the road to being able to compete in this arena. They are not even close. Tesla may well be the most advanced company developing real-world AI. And believe me, no matter how good your imagination is, you cannot imagine the developments that will flow from this. There are loads of reasons that Tesla is valued so high. Most of which, like the powerpack installations for electric utilities and the teslabot are usually not even considered. There is no other company on earth like Tesla, with the possible exception of SpaceX, and yet the wall street elves think they can value it on outdated metrics that only apply to outdated companies like GM, BMW, and Toyota. VW, Ford, and Hyundai still have a chance to survive into the Tesla dominated age of mostly Chinese and Mexican manufactured EVs with various European and American monikers, as is now the case for many ICE cars, made in China/Mexico but GM, Ford or other misleading branding.
