There is nothing stopping people from repairing or modding their own Teslas. They can even get the official shop manuals free from Tesla. I guess you haven't really checked the dealer prices for OEM ICE parts lately.

@GlennTXstate10 If you think that anyone is making EVs on the same level of engineering as Tesla you really don't know much about EVs. No one has "caught up", in fact Tesla is continuously pulling further ahead of everyone. Other OEMs may offer superficial frills and style to decorate their EV platforms that are at the least, five years behind Tesla, and in many areas they will never even equal today's Tesla. Aside from BYD, who is far behind Tesla in every metric and about equal in price now, no one is able to produce an EV at a profit except Tesla. There is a reason why Tesla is the safest car in a collision, has the highest customer loyalty, and whose customers on average are the happiest with their autos. You can believe all the fake news put out by the various commercial media who are hungering for the billions of dollars that Tesla does not have to spend on ads, like GM over 2 billion on ads last year, but you are just being manipulated by people who have a pecuniary interest in making Tesla look bad, so it will be forced to pay the advertising vig like everyone else. But it doesn't have to play that game, just because their cars are superior in engineering and some people care more about that than having lots of body styles on already out-dated platforms.

@Davemike27 What part do you need? Check a salvage yard. My guess is that you do not own a Tesla, you do not need a part, you have never driven a Tesla, and you actually are just regurgitating things you read. There are aftermarket parts for Teslas now and will be more in the future.

@nikky4757 The reality is that if you think other EVs are on the same level as Tesla you know nothing about EV engineering I suggest you refer to Munro Tech. https://www.youtube.com/@MunroLive/videos Any child can see that the reason that used Tesla's have dropped in price is because of government subs, and the fact that Tesla has lowered it's price. Which is good for everyone, especially those in the market for a less expensive EV that is not some laughable BMW attempt or GM trying to convince people that their EVs are somehow on par.

@nntflow7058 "Tesla's owner" -- you mean the hundreds of thousands of retail investors along with the investment banks and hedge funds? Or are you just repeating FUD you learned from the commercial media companies that love to trash Tesla in the hopes of someday getting it to buy ad time and space? Because the real facts are that Tesla owners are the most loyal and most pleased of all car owners, not just EVs. Most people with your attitude do a 180 upon driving a Tesla for the first time. Nothing else comes close, well not for less than three times the price and even then not really when all factors are considered. Recently a Tesla was driven off a 250' cliff in the drivers attempt to do a murder suicide of himself and family. Unfortunately for him, everyone survived without major injuries. This does not happen in any other vehicle.

@likewatermusik Weak FUD pud. It has been confirmed with data from the National Transport Safety Board, compiled by AutoinsuranceEZ, which says that hybrid vehicles have the highest fire risk. Fully electric vehicles, on the other hand, were deemed far safer than both hybirds and gas cars; they are far less likely to catch fire, with just 25.1 fires per 100,000 sales. That’s compared to 3,474 hybrid fires and 1,529 ICE fires per 100,000 sales respectively.

@nntflow7058 Your semi-coherent comment quite clearly refers to "Tesla's owner" trashing his customers. Which makes no sense in either case but really makes no sense if you meant the owners of Teslas trashing themselves. If you are talking about the products, which you now claim, your comment also makes no sense. The products changed the world and are more than five years ahead of the next best EV in their price range. And are pulling further ahead on a weekly basis.

@ElMistroFeroz Glad to hear it. When I see a non Tesla EV I always kind of feel like the buyers didn't do their due diligence. I am about in the middle of the cybertruck line. I think it may take two years to come up. I know there are some out there, but I have yet to meet a regular real Tesla owner who was not very positive about their car.
