@dieterdietert7232 Only their were not zero casualties. Take Galwan Valley: while soldiers carried firearms, due to decades of tradition designed to reduce the possibility of an escalation, agreements disallowed usage of firearms, but the Chinese side was reported to possess iron rods, clubs and batons wrapped in barbed wire and clubs embedded with nails. Hand-to-hand combat broke out, and the Indian soldiers called for reinforcements from a post about 3.2 kilometres (2 mi) away. Eventually, up to 600 men were engaged in combat using stones, batons, iron rods, and other makeshift weapons. The fighting, which took place in near-total darkness, lasted for up to six hours. Resulting in about twenty deaths on each side and many injuries and later deaths from injuries. I would think it would have been near the same if they held back and shot at each other with small arms across the valley. Later they reinstated the use of firearms.

@johnfranklin6394 That is a shame, the models up to and including 03, had a 9k redline. Which I love, but I like high rpm while most like high torque. It was the highest output per ci of any engine until Ferrari came out with the Italia. The Miata is far better for most people, especially since unlike the Honda, it uses regular gas and a broken timing chain/belt, doe not destroy the engine.
There are a small, but not nonexistent number of Tesla models S that were produced in 96' - 97' that don't have a lot of miles on them, are in pretty good condition, and . . . wait for it: have over 90% battery life left, are still under an eight year unlimited mile warranty, and have fully transferable unlimited lifetime free supercharging! Of course whether or any particular car would be a raging deal depends entirely on price and condition, but on my web browsing yesterday I came across one that has 32k on the clock and was priced at 35k. If I was in the market for a sedan I would definitely check those kinds of offerings out. Saw it on Craigslist somewhere in PA. using searchtempest for Craigslist (it checks everywhere and gives results by state and city)

@Ruben-w2v Since bitcoin does not have, and never had, and never will have any intrinsic value: it's value is totally derived from a story in the minds of those who value it. In other words, it's value is totally derived from what people think about it. The same is mostly true for many items that do have a physical aspect: Banksy art for instance, or half million dollar handbags, or even diamonds and gold. Of course diamonds and gold do have some intrinsic value as do the handbags, but it is really only a percentage of their value, and in the case of the Banksy art and the handbags: a minute percentage. Stocks and bonds and the value of currency itself is largely derived from consensus perception as opposed to intrinsic value. Food, water, and air, have the most intrinsic value, but even that is relative to scarcity. What is the value of a loaf of bread sitting next to a thousand other loafs at a supermarket? What is the value of that same loaf if it is the only source of food for a hundred miles? What is the value of a bullet if society collapses?

Interesting question about Tesla. For some reason, and I have no idea why: Tesla is the only OEM manufacturing in China that is totally publicly owned and is not a partner with the Chinese gov.
They are presently enlarging the Chinese factory, after having taken it off line last summer for improvements which apparently increased its output tremendously. CATL is also construction a battery factory next to Tesla in China, apparently for Tesla's use.
Considering the financial media's hyperbolic attitude about every possible negative about Tesla, I wouldn't doubt that we will see much made of it, and little real difference, other than in the stock market, and that will be temporary.
Right now there are over a dozen Chinese EVs exported to Europe, many of them wear storied European marques like BMW, or MG, or Volvo, but are really Made in China an in many cases majority owned by the Chinese gov. All the European sales from all the Chinese EVs sold in Europe amount to about the same as the numbers of Chinese manufactured Teslas sold in Europe. I expect this will change dramatically as the Berlin gigafactory ramps up. Tesla does not import Chinese manufactured cars into the USA, so no real difference there. Recently wrong-hand drive Teslas have showed up in Austrailia and New Zealand, and despite the Chinese factory continuing to be unable to fill the orders, an unfounded rumor that demand had fallen off in China caused Tesla stock to plummet two weeks ago.
The financial and even regular news media has been attempting to coerce Tesla into handing over the advertising vig for years. What are a few thousand outright lies and slanted analysis compared to the prize, if they can bully Tesla into advertising to protect it from scum journalism? To put this in perspective: GM alone spent over 2.2billion dollars for advertising last year. Tesla spent none: you can figure it out. The media says one thing, but the facts on the ground say "outpreformed again" under all present less than optimal circumstances.

@jackholloway1 We can keep going with this is you want to, but your are only going to find out that your assumptions are based on media spin and not the facts. For instance: about 300 years ago, on August 1, 1714, England's Queen Anne died. As a result, the German Elector George Louis of Hanover was proclaimed king of Great Britain in absentia. He was the only possible heir to the throne, and the first German to ascend an English throne. The German king did not set foot on English soil until two months after his proclamation and was crowned King George I on October 20, 1714.
His grandson George III was the first in the line of German kings to be born in England, with English being his first language. He married the German Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The couple had 15 children. In 1837, George IV's niece Victoria, who also had a partly German bloodline, was crowned. She married her cousin, the German Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
Queen Victoria died in 1901, succeeded by her eldest son Edward VII, the first English king from the German dynasty of Sachsen-Coburg and Gotha. To make the name easier to pronounce for the English, the house was renamed Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Just a few years later, in 1910, his son George V became king. He was married to Maria von Teck, who also had German blood, and who became known as Queen Mary.
In 1917, George V decided to change the German family name to Windsor. George also renounced all German titles, as did his cousin Ludwig von Battenberg, who renamed his family Mountbatten. Queen Elizabeth's husband, Prince Philip, came from this family.
The mother of Queen Elizabeth II was British, so she was only partly of German descent.
Her husband Philip, however, had predominantly German ancestors and spoke fluent German. In 1947, he became a British citizen and, shortly before his marriage to Elizabeth, relinquished his German title of nobility and called himself only "Mountbatten."
Their eldest son, the new King Charles III, has a bloodline made up of roughly half German ancestors.
So it is no wonder that genetic tests cannot distinguish between Germans and English: Even the King is half German, and many of the British royals before him were entirely German.

Seeing comments like this is beginning to make me lose respect for Peter's audience. No dude, the solution is to take the profit out of drugs, by decriminalizing them and making cocaine available to the fools who use it cheap. At one point when I was young I had a job doing fix-up and painting around the house of a retired general of the US armed forces. His wife had prescriptions for both cocaine and opium, legally as nose drops and paregoric. She had bottles of them in virtually every room of the house and she seemed to function quite normally. The whole illegal drugs thing is a scam, it is total bullshit, and the only solution that works is decriminalization and gov sponsored clinics where the drugs can be had and used safely like they have in Switzerland. Unless you want the drug barons and their banker launderers to continue to corrupt every facet of our Republic from Congress down to the beat cop level, and the incredibly ineffective enforcement apparatus which has proven that they can do nothing of significance regarding the problem except increase their own power and funding and shit on low level street level creeps.
When you make something like pot or opium illegal you make it so profitable that it will be smuggled and sold successfully no matter what enforcement techniques you use. It is natural to use and want to use drugs, cocaine is like coffee, only actually less toxic than pure caffeine. The worst drug by far as far as health and society is concerned is alcohol. You could use medically pure opioids most of your life without serious consequences, not so with alcohol. The reason drugs are illegal is power and money is derived from their prohibition, but the lies have the public in fear and no one has the courage to stand up because the bastards that profit from the prohibition have everything by the balls.

It was not American isolationism that lead to it's involvement in WW1. Much the contrary.
Entering WW1 was the stupidest thing that the USA ever did. When Russia collapsed and the revolutionaries signed a treaty with the Central Powers it freed up a million German soldiers to move to the western front.
And admit it or not the soviets were now backing Germany.
When this happened if the USA had not entered the war due to the subconscious manipulation of the American public via Edward Bernays Council on Foreign Relations using techniques he based on the unpublished works of his uncle Sigmund Freud, a public that was almost totally against the war became a public that cried for vengeance, even hung a few German Americans in the streets.
If the USA had not entered the war at that point the Central Powers would have won.
Had we stayed out of it, there would have been no Hitler, no WW2, no vast genocides of Jews, the disabled, gypsies, and various other scapegoat groups, no Soviet superpower, and no loss of over a hundred thousand American boys in a war the nation really had no stake in. AND the end game would have been more or less what we have in Europe today. (Remember the Germany of the time was not a Nazi Nation run by a madman but a constitutional monarchy in which political parties were limited to the legislative arena. And there is much speculation that the real reason for the insane mobilization that took place was the work on the construction of a German railroad from Central Europe into the oil fields of the Middle East, which the British controlled.
On the other hand there are those Americans who benefited greatly from the war at the time. By the end of 1918, American factories had produced 3.5 million rifles, 20 million artillery rounds, 633 million pounds of smokeless gunpowder, 376 million pounds of high explosives, 21,000 airplane engines, and large amounts of poison gas.

@swankydanky8025 Sure: I have a very big bucket. It goes all the way from table sugar, to peyote, to opium, etc. etc. Even includes such esoteric legends as obadriene, levo dromirane, and quaaludes. Bet you won't find those at your friendly neighborhood dispensary, or dealer.
In the bucket that that bucket is in, I include social media, words in general, sports, you know, anything that that throws those neuropeptides into the breach, but is not directly survival related.

@mrsam0496 Yes it would become peaceful, after one of the millions of nut-jobs that had been brainwashed by religious paradigms had decided to enter paradise and take everyone with them, after the nuclear winter had subsided, and all meaningful human civilization has ended. Of course not so peaceful for those caught by jaguars, lions, tigers, leopards, polar bears, and orcas that will have once again assumed top positions on the food chain. You could definitely count on peace by increasing the number of mental defectives in control of the destiny of earth.
The bright side of the whole thing is that in a few decades when the dust has settled on the vistas of ruin and corpsicles, the Martian colonists could return to the mother world with their scientific, RetroConfucian Meritocracy and AI hybrid civilization to try it one more time with intelligence, science, the mission of extending human consciousness, striving for a golden destiny among the stars, and sanity as guiding principles.

Peter couldn't be more incorrect about Tesla. No layoffs, almost 30b in the bank, increasing production and sales about 90% YOY, a stock price that has been gutted by continual fake news from almost all commercial media, because they will not spend the billions on advertising that the others like GM do on a yearly basis, because they do not have to, their vehicles sell themselves, the highest owner satisfaction and loyalty, by far the safest vehicles in a collision, the only charging net worth using, transformational major tech breakthroughs that have yet to penetrate the public mind, and apparently Peter's too, the world leader in real-world AI, so many pluses that I cannot go into them here. Investors like Soros buying the present dip. NO debt, like Ford almost 130b in real debt, and more profit per unit than any other major OEM except Mercedes. The one thing that Tesla does have to worry about is Chinese unrest, but that is about it. His idea that Tesla has "gobbled up the subsidies". . . is ridiculous and enormously incorrect: Tesla has been killing it with no subs for years, and come Jan1st will be eligible for over 6k per unit in the new federal subs. How in the hell could someone be so wrong about all this when the facts are freely available to anyone who is able to distinguish media and short seller FUD from reality? I have lost enormous respect for Pete's opinions, despite the fact that I would love to see them come true for Russia and China.

Tesla seems to be doing more than fine in their China giga. Sales are up domestically and internationally from there, they are about to release the Highland model from China, and they have been seeking approval for a major expansion of manufacturing facilities. CATL has built a new battery plant right next to Tesla giga Shanghai, (wonder why). Though to be fair Tesla has also been initiating new Tera plants like crazy, the one in Monterrey Mexico will be twice a big as the biggest factory in the USA (Tesla giga Austin) and there are ongoing negotiations with, Canada, Spain, India, Indonesia, and probably places I don't know about to build additional plants. Tesla is also the only American company operating in China that has been allowed total ownership of it's operations, at least until a few months ago when it seems other companies have been cut a similar deal.
Yep, guess that green tech will never work out. . . . But now it can't help but work out, Tesla cars are now less expensive to buy than comparable gas cars, and much much less expensive to own and operate. This despite the Musk haters and gobblers of the lies instigated by short sellers, OEM ICE investors and tier 1-3 suppliers, the oil shitheads, union shills, the mass media trying to shake T down for ad revenue and the general knuckle-dragging troglodytes that drive dualy diesel pickups and put something in the bed from Home Depot once or twice a year, while they pollute the air we breath with toxic carcinogenic fumes which are responsible for millions of repertory related deaths each year and drag a useless ton of iron around with them everywhere they go because they want to pretend to be cowboys or good old boys or some other stupid shit.

Loki is not from India. Bengal originated in California as a hybrid between an Asian leopard cat, a small wild cat found throughout south east Asia and various domestic breeds.. Your Bengal probably has very little leopard cat in it, and you should be happy about that. I have owned various leopard cats in the past and bred bengals when they first appeared for sale. Bengals were initially breed as investigations into transferring the immunity to feline leukemia into domestic cats.
The thing that sets Bengals apart for other domestics is the coat pattern, as the other prime characteristics of the Leopard cat, such as small round delicate ears, lack shoulder striping, and a viscous demeanor have largely been lost.
If your Bengal glitters in sun light, you are fortunate, as this is one of the key anomalous factors that seemed to develop from this hybridization. They seem to think it came from the leopard cats, but I have never seen a leopard cat with glitter.
If you have never seen a bemgal with glitter, and the cat that momentarily appeared in this video does not appear to have the glitter gene though that could be because of the lighting, you really haven't seen a great Bengal. Here's a pic of a bengal kitten with some glitter. Though it really does not show up in photos. https://bengalcatdirectory.com/wp-content/uploads/Lamba.jpg

I think you made some valid and some interesting point. Except the one about Peter's age being the real reason for his attitude. Like Bill Maher espouses: ageism is the last hold-out of prejudice. With the amount that Peter walks and the funds I imagine he has the ability to allocate, he may be around for centuries if Kurzwell's predictions run true to form, and so far they seem to be.
I like Peter's input on geopolitics based on demographics and geography, but when it comes to innovation and technological progress and it's repercussions, I tend more toward Tony Seba's views. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eJKTYc_v-I&t=387s
I personally never liked Twitter. Perhaps because like yourself I find it stifling to be limited to a small number of characters. I ditched facebook a few months after I got on it, when a friend in the IT tech explained the extent of their inference engines to me a decade or so ago. I still do use their local marketplace feature, but that's it, and I now have all their trackers and impossitions on my privacy defeated. I never use google search, only duck duck, and always use a VPN for everything, both on my PC and phone and have since they were first availible (Nord being the best I have come across) YouTube is my only indulgence and I have their off-site trackers and inference engines gelded. And of course I never see any ads on YouTube or I would not use it at all.

Depends where you want to live. I am selling a house with hardwood floors throughout, cedar closet, four bedrooms, a detached garage, fairly new roof, all new insulated windows, a huge fenced yard, high cellings, the best heating system I have ever experienced, baseboard hot water, in an area where unskilled workers start at low to mid twenties, and I will be lucky to get eighty thousand dollars for it
. I have met people who moved here form California (small town east central PA with basically no crime) just so they could afford a home.

The reason drugs are illegal is power and money is derived from their prohibition, but the lies have the public in fear and no one has the courage to stand up because the bastards that profit from the prohibition have everything by the balls.

That would help a great deal, but , the solution is to take the profit out of drugs, by decriminalizing them and making cocaine available to the fools who use it cheap.
Well then you are "for" a lost cause, because people have always done drugs, especially caffeine and alcohol, and it is natural to do drugs, there is no part of human history wherein people haven't used drugs, even the most ancient Scythian sites have contained devices that were used to smoke pot.

You forgot to mention the biggest cartel: the bankers who wash the money like HSBC and company.
All it would take to put them all out of business is for the US gov to wise up, look at the real data from other countries and decriminalize all drugs and end the monopoly they have given to the first criminal billionaires: whom they have created.
Opioids should be given to addicts for free in a clinical setting, as much as they want, along with admissions to therapy if they desire it. Then believe it or not, the continual crime to support habits will end and they will be able to hold jobs. That's what happened in Switzerland.
Drugs like pot, mushrooms, peyote (mescaline) LSD molly etc. should be legal for anyone over twenty one and otherwise unregulated.
Truly dangerous drugs like meth, crack, cocaine, alcohol, and tobacco, should require a license to use and a sign off of any medicare/cade benefits, and free ambulance or emergency room services.

Entering WW1 was the stupidest thing that the USA ever did. When Russia collapsed and the revolutionaries signed a treaty with the Central Powers it freed up a million German soldiers to move to the western front.
And admit it or not the soviets were now backing Germany.
When this happened if the USA had not entered the war due to the subconscious manipulation of the American public via Edward Bernays Council on Foreign Relations, a public that was almost totally against the war became a public that cried for vengeance, even hung a few German Americans in the streets.
