fHe's also wrong about China disappearing in seven more years. And lots of other stuff. But he does know geography.

If you know of any house set on fire because a Tesla was parked in the garage please let me know.

@srwven Cell phones are responsible for the use of rare and strategic metals far more than EVs but I bet you aren't gonna go back to a landline.

Diesel exhaust is not only toxic it is carcinogenic. But that probably doesn't matter to you. And some of us know why.

@lo1234-w9r That's not what the experts say about the Teslas made in the the last few years. Fit and finish as good or better is the average opinion. But then who am I to argue with outdated info?
1
@oldscratch3535 So you keep an old Honda for the one day a decade you could need it, and drive something more intelligent for everyday carry.

@CS-vw3db You won"t have to wait long, many have already done seen.

@potowiskey3477 Your "normal" vehicle (the fact that you call ICE vehicle normal is ridiculous, and your great granddaddy probably said the same thing about his "normal" horse: compared to your Rube Goldberg whirlygig ICE at less than 40% efficiency compared to over 90% for an EV. With over five hundred moving parts in it's engine for every moving part in an electric motor. The facts are that hybrid vehicles catch fire the most per 100k, gas vehicle are second per 100k and EV are a distant third per 100k. Now you have the facts. Not that they will do you any good. And FYI concrete does not melt. When exposed to high temperatures, such as in a fire, concrete undergoes what’s known as thermal spalling. This occurs when the moisture inside the concrete rapidly turns to steam and causes the surface layer to flake off, leading to structural damage. So basically in your one incomplete sentence you are wrong about everything you wrote.

@Ai-dz7ys Your "facts" are totally incorrect and just what a dying ice OEM would want you to believe. Tesla does not advertise. The ICE OEMs do, to the tune of billions of dollars each per year. Most people assume that the purpose of the media, especially financial media is to inform them. It is not. The purpose of the media is to sell ad space/time. So selling you a bill of goods about Tesla is just a way to bludgeon Tesla into paying the ad vig. Hasn't worked too well. +

@Thai-Tanic. This was no secret. Tesla's master plan has always been available.
1
@Beaniexa Such simple old tech, you would think that anyone could make an effective EV. But only one company can. If you are really interested (doubtful) there are many tear downs of Teslas on YOuTube. Then you can actually learn something instead of assuming you already know

@denisturcott5131 You are believing lies. Gas cars are much much more likely to go up in flames than an EV and hybrids are even worse. This is according to the insurance stats, not your fantasy conclusion.

There is a reason why some people think that increased complexity is the way forward when a quantum leap in decreased complexity is also available that offers all the advantages: stupidity.
1
Hybrid are more complex, require more maintence, and are less safe than an ICE car and much more so to an EV. Increasing complexity is just stupid when reducing it has better results.
1
@lesmotley6839 Put up or shut up. Where's the hyperlink?
1
Increased complexity is not the way forward. For every moving part in an EV motor an ICE has 500, and a hybrid increases that number and complexity and maintenance and fire hazard, everything about it is last century.

Look, I know that there are lots of Elon haters and lots of ludites, but this is something that even those with the smoothest brains should try to understand. There is Tesla, and there is all the other "also rans". Tesla is the only EV OEM that is making a profit and they have been making such a good profit per unit that they are able to reduce their prices to levels that no other company that makes an acceptable EV can even dream of. That is Tesla's plan. It has always been it's plan. What is the best selling model car (both EV and ICE) in the world? -- Tesla model Y. What is the best selling EV in China? -- Tesla model Y. What is the best selling EV in Europe? Tesla model Y. What is the best selling car of any kind in California? -- Tesla model Y. What is the safes car in a collision? -- Tesla. What car brand has the highest level of owner satisfaction? -- Tesla. What car brand has the highest owner loyalty? Tesla. What car sold in America has the most American content and labor? -- Tesla. What company has the most millionaires working on the assembly lines due to stock options? -- Tesla. There is such a divergence between Tesla and everyone else that most of them are just giving up and trying desperately to get people to believe that it is because EVs are not viable. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you buy anything but a Tesla anywhere in the world it can only be out of ignorance. Companies that were losing 40-200k on every EV they sold (most of them even BYD had to cook the books to show a profit and they are the only other one in the money on each sale, or so they say) cannot afford to lose even more by reducing their prices to give the appearance that they are competitive with Tesla even thought under the hood they are twenty years and two generations of tech behind and will never catch up because Tesla innovates much faster. When Toyota purchased and tore down a model Y they themselves said it was "a masterpiece of engineering" that they were not capable of duplicating. But they are trying to. Toyota is adopting Tesla's manufacturing tech as fast as it can, but they are trying, with no success, but much fantasy used as a delaying tactic. And what will all of Peter's quite dubious conclusions mean when a Tesla robotaxi appears and suddenly an EV is getting 500% more usage than a ICE car? The more you look into the actual facts, the more you will see that the future belongs to Tesla in a big way. And you naysayers will be just as happy as the rest of us when you finally wake up.

Tesla has terrible marketing. They do not advertise. Most people think they are on a par with other EVs while they are in fact twenty years ahead and pulling further ahead by the day. There is incredible FUD every day in the financial media because they do not pay up the advertising vig to the tune of billions like other OEMs. But then, the product markets itself, and the owners are the salesmen. It is only because Teslas are truly superior to all other choices that they sell so well.
