  1. Your reasoning does not necessarily reflect market dynamics. In 2020 the market crashed and precious metals crashed along with it, despite the obvious "reasoning" that you note, having the same rational as earlier.

  3. Gold's value is as much an illusion as is the value of fiat currency. It only has relative value because people will accept it in exchange for goods and services. What is it good for? Jewelry (Including the man jewelry know as coins, and a tiny use in electronics. If the Russian reserves were known it would crash. If the right asteroid is able to be mined it will become virtually worthless. If the shit ever really hits the fan, no one in their right mind would trade you their food or bullets for gold.
