@ThePorkchop1787 Taxed top incomes at over ninety percent during Ike's administration for one thing.

Perhaps you had mistaken him for a nonprofit org.

@danielmcguire7344 All this will be meaningless in two decades or less because of advances in AI, robotics, and genetics. Almost no one can see this coming, but it is coming.

Or the problem of reversing aging will have been conquered in the next decade or two and they will all go surfing because only robots work anymore. It's gonna happen.

Sooner or later even the most rabid Trump cultist will see what he really is, and be quite ashamed, if only to themselves for having been such a foolish rube.

This is the first comment in the hundreds I've read that even hints at the coming paradigm shift that is just around the decades corner. AI, robotic and genetic breakthroughs will make all this fretting and calculation of the economy's destiny using kitchen table math seem like the hallucinations of dimwitted children.

You can't really print money, only currency.

Even those in a Trump stupor will eventually see what Donald really is, and be quite ashamed that they had been such a rube, if they have the moral backbone, which most of them won't, they will just continue with the rationalizations for past stupidity in the form of ever more loony conspiracy theories. It would be a their fault if they actually possessed free will, which nobody does, despite the continual subvocal story we all tell ourselves to the contrary.

Yeah that would all matter if the future technological development stops now, but it won't. It will only speed up, at a rate that is not able to be envisioned by almost anyone presently trying to imagine the future. Even if someone is in their seventies and in good health, they may well live for centuries, with increasing youth. It has been shown in animal studies already that altering one gene can increase healthy lifespan twenty percent. The robots are coming, rapidly, and eventually the economy will be so transformed by limitless near free labor that no calculations made in the present milieu will be in the least relevant.
