Things are not worse than they used to be, they are very much better in almost every regard. But social media and political AHs have many bears of little brain believing things are getting worse.

"chic" does not mean what you think it does: chic /shēk/ adjective Conforming to the current fashion; stylish. "chic clothes; a chic boutique." Adopting or setting current fashions and styles; sophisticated: synonym: fashionable. "chic, well-dressed young executives." @judewarner1536 Have to mostly agree with your comment. I think you may be right about the peril of our democracy. I don't remember who made the prediction, but some political pundit put forth the prediction that the electorate would do exactly what it has, swing wildly between the two apparent factions of left and right. They said that the initial Trump victory would be followed by a democratic victory with the parties becoming more and more polarized. They finished their prediction by stating that if the Trump movement came back to win in 24 it would be the advent of the end of democracy. Well, as the blind man said, "We shall see.". . .

His choice of attorney general was a kick to the groin of all Americans including Trump cultists. He just wants the cabinet to be totally dependent on him to protect them so they will protect him.

Sorry to disillusion you, but Pete does not answer queries on this channel, and he probably never reads comments either. But my two cents on this subject is that it was the advent of news for profit with CNN. Until then network news departments were isolated from sales and financial considerations, was unaffected by ratings, and was always a loss leader. But they should bring back equal time. That would be great, half of all viewing on cable news would be equal time commentary on lies and spin.

Your comment contains anachronistic views. There was no viable form of contraception in the 1940s. Prophylactics were not even legal in many countries back then. Populations do not make conscious decisions about their countries population and effect them in their family life. During times of "Shambles" people do not have less children because they are expensive, during times of hardship and stress people have more children, because they have more sex.

You do know that Trump is responsible for the timing of the pull -out. He conferred with the Taliban, which was not even the government at the time, and committed the USA to pulling out, Biden only postponed the move by a few months. Of course if you live in a world of the lies of a monumental AH you don't know that and won't believe it even if all the facts are there to see.
