@jimdoe9827 They are also the reason that many US companies went out of business. I used to know some guys at the former Bethlehem Steel, who were paid to go to work every day and do absolutely nothing, because the union contract said that their jobs could not be changed even though the jobs they did were no longer necessary because of tech advancements. Just one example of union greed and stupidity manifesting in magical thinking that destroys companies. Unions are stupid and counterproductive. Employee ownership of the company through matching stock programs is the way to go. Then the employees are invested in the success of the company instead of the extortion of it. I remember when I was a kid a union strike that put a local bread company out of business, and when they announced the fact that they had no choice but to dissolve the business, the idiot union members were cheering and yelling "we won".
