Interestingly enough, despite this, they like Ike, are in opposition to the undue influence of the MIC on the course of political decisions. Apparently they are distinguished among DC think tanks by their policy against accepting funding from foreign governments.

  2. How many HIMARS will the USA give to Ukranine? IMH non grand opinion it would have been much more effective to provide existing 155m pieces that are already in theater with the M1156 Precision Guidance Kit used on XM1113 or some other rocket-assisted projectile -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1156_Precision_Guidance_Kit -- but the USA will have to provide the sighting systems for the 777 and other 155mm guns in Ukraine to use them, which have been seemingly absent going by photos of the pieces given to Ukraine. These screw in smart weapon conversion kits also work with the German self propelled guns. This would enable 155mm Systems that are already being used in Ukraine, to fire to a range of 40 kilometers with about 10 m accuracy. Also allow safer close infantry support as the shells will defuse themselves in flight if they are going to land too far from the designated target and too close to friendly bodies.
