  3. The key word being "arguably", because it certainly is not true. The Wagner Group first appeared in 2014 so just for a reality check, the Taliban (which at the time was also a non-state armed group) appeared around 1994. They now own a country. That is just one example of many, that would further prove that you point about being arguable was correct, the rest -- not so much. Or take The Islamic State ISIS -- 1999 and still in the same ongoing war against everyone -- that is some experience. Though Wagner certainly has more juice than Constellis Holdings.

What would your assessment be if all the radar of Chinese medium range missile systems that threaten US carriers violently disassembled because of missiles launched by stealth aircraft outside of the range of SAM systems? If the main current of prognostication by the usual geopolitical darlings is even approximately true, we may well see an era where China has to make concessions, allow the sale of key state owned industries among which is steel production (which in china is vastly underwritten economically by the CCP) and allow the foreign ownership of domestic industries outside of Tesla which for some reason it allows to remain entirely owned by private investors, the vast majority of whom are Americans.

But if Trump does run again, most people will hold their noses and vote for Joe again. If the Republicans manage to shut off the funding of Ukraine, and the Europeans do not take up the slack, one of the most effective means of reducing the power of rule by totalitarian methods, which are always against the evolution of civilization and humans, will have been squandered. The far reaching effects of the undermining of the significance of real facts as opposed to right-wing fancy and fantasy as the means by which the billionaire Robert Mercer (the REAL money behind Trump and the chaos brought on by denial of reality by right-wing nuts and fanatics) could decrease his tax burden. Not the first time a New York City conman (Donny) pulled the wool over the eyes of a bunch of small town rubes, and it won't be the last. But, "Fool me once, shame on you. . ." -- Now we will see if all the "small-town rubes" who loved Trump have been fooled once, or if they actually are fools.

  18.  @larshofler8298  I simply will deny that fact. Authoritarianism has declined steadily in the USA, with a little regression here and there, for my entire seventy five short years on this orb. And if you think that capitalism increases authoritarianism you really nave a skewed view of geopolitics. No other historic factor has degraded authoritarianism to the degree that capitalism has. And China has always been painted as an authoritarian villain since the CCP took over, this is not something that just began in the last thirty years, and any fool with an internet connection or access to a library with old newspaper records can bare this out. Without western investment there would have been no Chinese economic miracle, and if the USA stops buying their exports or simply blocks the sea lanes to China there economy is dead. Even sooner than it eventually will be. So basically every thing you wrote is incorrect.

  20. I would hate to have to rely on either Russian tech or Russian support. Like it or not Russia is finished, a shrinking population, rampant HIV and heroin addiction in addition to the highest percentage of alcoholics on earth. It will be unable to fill the shoes of the engineers that developed it's defense industry, not to mention the fact that a lot of Russian hardware just doesn't work in a war against an advanced opponent like China. Russia's time is past, China's time is now but only because of foreign investment and tech transfer. China will soon go the way of Russia but a little later, they have big population problems looming in the future. India's time is yet to come. Do you want to do it with a country whose citizens flee at any given opportunity, or one that people literally risk their lives to attempt to get in? This is India's chance to end up on the right side of the future. Believe it, Russia is not long for this world. India is an important friend for the USA. They should work to iron out the minor problems they have. One thing India should take into account is that it will not have the most advanced American military tech in the future if they buy Russian weapons now. They would do better to give up Russia and work with the USA to develop its own advanced defense industry.

And of course while those in Switzerland out-grew the insane behaviors (such as slowly roasting those of different religious opinions in Switzerland) that resulted from believing religious metaphors and iron age teaching stories to be actual facts, those in Afghanistan never established an enlightened culture, mostly due to the prevalence of stupidity.

The USAs new AGMs range is classified but we know it is in excess of 160 miles, probably closer to 200, is able to be carried internally by stealth fighters, let alone bombers, and is able to be launched outside of the range of SAM units by aircraft such as the F15 and then have a target designated by F35s that are closer to the action. I suggest you explore Peter Zeihan's geopolitical assessment of China's future in order to reorganize your hierarchy of priorities regarding such a possible future conflict. China is now frozen out of any purchase of high end semiconductors, which are oh so useful in developing high end weapons systems, and they are quite incapable of designing or manufacturing them themselves. They are no longer even able to buy the machines that are capable of making them. . . . Re-access bro. And if the USA ever really gets it security tightened where will China go to steal weapons tech? What China doesn't realize is they would still be eating tree bark if not for the west opening up investments and intellectual property exports to China. It is dependent on the USA to keep the sea lanes safe, and the USA no longer has any interest in doing so.
