Comments by "SkyRiver" (@SkyRiver1) on "China and Australia compete for Pacific supremacy" video.
@zhiro_3 Sing means to "sing a song" or "sing with joy". You meant to write "sign". But no matter, your view is naive and has nothing to do with the manner in which China, Australia, or the USA actually conducts it's international policies.

@elephantman2112 "Shore up", not "sure up".

@JayJay5244 See Dana's comment above. Also: "Sense" especially to governments, is often, not what is apparent to casual observation. If the main current of prognostication by the usual geopolitical darlings is even approximately true, we may well see an era where China has to make concessions, allow the sale of key state owned industries among which is steel production (which in china is vastly underwritten economically by the CCP) and allow the foreign ownership of domestic industries outside of Tesla which for some reason it allows to remain entirely owned by private investors, the vast majority of whom are Americans.

@franzjoseph1837 You need to read my orighinal comment on his comment again because obviously you lack reading comprehension or alternately just see what you need to to set up a straw-man argument. I said his view on how China, Australia, and the USA conduct their international policies is naive, not his view that it should be different -- einstein.

@larshofler8298 I simply will deny that fact. Authoritarianism has declined steadily in the USA, with a little regression here and there, for my entire seventy five short years on this orb. And if you think that capitalism increases authoritarianism you really nave a skewed view of geopolitics. No other historic factor has degraded authoritarianism to the degree that capitalism has. And China has always been painted as an authoritarian villain since the CCP took over, this is not something that just began in the last thirty years, and any fool with an internet connection or access to a library with old newspaper records can bare this out. Without western investment there would have been no Chinese economic miracle, and if the USA stops buying their exports or simply blocks the sea lanes to China there economy is dead. Even sooner than it eventually will be. So basically every thing you wrote is incorrect.

@k.umquat8604 So none of history was anybodies business, because according to you, the progress of nations and civilization is people sticking their nose in where it doesn't belong, like the spread of the USA from Atlantic to Pacific. Or the Reformation. Or maybe you actually think that rationalizations of leaders given to their populace are the real factors that motivate national acts of aggression or self-interest. If you have any understanding that even approaches reality as opposed to moralistic fantasies, you understand that the business of the United States is what it says it is. That is the functional reality of it at this time.

@franzjoseph1837 Sorry: my new policy is to not respond to illiterate nonsense.

@franzjoseph1837 In this case it means you apparently cannot compose a sentence.

@ly7993 As opposed to the chaos and war that they have brought to themselves and other countries in all of their history.

@franzjoseph1837 Many woke puddin' heads apply the cultural sensitivities of the present developed countries to the historic actions of what you refer to as the west but which consists of a melange of cultures, states of social evolution, and technological sophistication, not to mention various governmental styles. Yet you fail to take note of the typical barbarism of the peoples whom where exploited, by the spread of western powers through colonialism in the past and capitalism in the present, and whom were not lacking in the least for local exploiters of all stripes. Much like the naive and historically ignorant American students who think that the first nations and various tribal groups in the Americas were peaceful environmentalists who respected one another and the environment, while nothing could be further from the truth.
