  1. Like religion: people purporting to speak objectively often provide stories to account for the unknown. This is usually because the naked confrontation with what little is thought to be known (always ripe for revisions that improve the correspondence of these various forms of symbolic representation to experiment and observation)and the vast unknown surrounding it would be totally staggering to the functions of the prefrontal cortex and personal identity. People are willing to accept the fact that they cannot accurately represent quantum mechanics in associative thought. They are not so willing to admit that the associative mind (frequently and incorrectly referred to as consciousness) cannot comprehend itself or its functioning. This delight is reserved for forms of perception and comprehension beyond associative thought. Of which few of our fellow bipeds, including those who hold themselves forth as scientists, have any functioning adequateness with.
