@humboldthammer I got news for you, Men believed in god, and gods, many thousands of years before Abraham was a glint in his father's eye, if he is more than a mythic figure on which their is much debate, and before the tribes of Israel existed at all. Though I do support your statement about the progressive improvement of Mankind, which is happening, and a major part of it is to debunk nonsense and superstition for what it is -- usually well intentioned teaching stories composed of metaphors which no longer make the same kind of sense that their quite human and fallible authors first intended.

@derivative4358 Interesting thought. So then googling would be like praying about something. I guess there is a good percentage of humanity for whom that analogy would work. The kind of people who pray about things like what team will win some sporting event, or that their friend's cancer will spontaneously remiss. On the other hand there are also a great many people for whom religion is more analogous to a total cessation of anything and everything that could either be entered in a Google search or give one cause or motivation to even consider such an action. Like those who consider the pursuit of enhanced consciousness, or enlightenment, or a new form of intelligence to be the aim of such intentions, and the various often quite hilarious acts they inspire in people. Hopefully some amalgam of this intention will come to have increasing effect in the very "further perfection of mankind" that was originally mentioned. Because quite clearly: the kind of training and expertise that is now required to become even a minor factor in determining the course of humanity, though it may be advanced and dominate in a particular field, such as politics or fund management, or even physics, is clearly inadequate as regards the ability to organize and inspire the rapid advancement of welfare and technological prowess that humanity should now be experiencing.

The whole idea of a piece of land being sacred to the Native Americans is stupid and just not accurate. Most traditional Native Americans consider all land sacred, so your reporting presents a false narrative, not just to others but to the Native A,mericans themselves. who now believe all manner of nonsense about themselves, like they were always peaceful woke environmentalists who love nature and one another, while NOTHING could be further from the truth, well maybe somethings could be further from the truth like the belief that Trump is anything but a toxic conman. Besides, in reality, either everything is sacred because a person has evolved consciously and sees reality, or it is just one of a thousand different superstitions about all manner of nonsense, held by confused people supporting their particular guess about things that are beyond them. I hardily support the protests against pumping tar sand oil and other environmental acts of irresponsibility, but I also hardily denounce nonsense even when it is presented in terms of tradition and the "sacred". It's nice, it's romantic, and it fits in with the emotional narrative that Hollywood and mush media like to present as of late, but it is still nonsense.
