Comments by "SkyRiver" (@SkyRiver1) on "“Crime of the Century”: How Big Pharma Fueled the Opioid Crisis That Killed 500,000 and Counting" video.
It's the same crisis: the USA refusing to admit the truth about opioids, continuing to demonize them and their users and forcing them to seek street drugs because of their bureaucratic stupidity.

The masses of OD death that have more recently occurred are almost entirely the result of the government making it much more difficult for people with chronic pain to get pain meds a few years ago. Therefore they turned to street drugs to deal with their pain.

@queenmommie8295 Well you are certainly entitled to your opinion. Where I grew up it was all white people who were jailed for drugs, mostly poor white kids, because there were no people of other color. By the way, there are actually no indigenous human beings anywhere on earth anymore. We are all an invasive species out of Africa, and even in the valleys where humans actually were an indigenous species, the people who now live there came from elsewhere. Like it or not those are the facts. By the way, I love your name Queen mommie.

@darkmadder9897 The precursors for Fentanyl come from China.

That would be people who murder corn flakes -- er what?

How about the number one destroyer of lives -- alcohol.

Did your son die from prescription meds or from street drugs that he had to turn to when the gov made his prescription med unavailable? If the later, you can blame the new legislation that made pain meds very difficult to obtain for his death. But then you can't sue the government unless they decide to let you sue them. So there would be nothing in it for you if you pointed your finger in the right direction.

Find yourself a good source of English poppy seeds and make tea. You will be able to reduce your dosage a little at a time over long term without strong withdrawal. Be careful, if you find good organic seed you will be able to OD on them. Go slow to titrate your dosage until you find out how strong they are. Remember people have OD on poppy seed tea, but it is legal, for now. They contain over twenty different opioids, and some of them are very long lasting, like methadone. You will not have to drink it everyday because it lasts so long, though you may not feel high for days, you will be comfortable if you do it right. And if you really desire to stop, it will help you avoid the pain.

No.

@reforest4fertility The petroleum industry is not the biggest producer of greenhouse gases -- not even close. Animal agriculture produces 87% of all greenhouse gases and all the other industries combined produce about 13%. Don't be a meat and dairy fool, it is much more harmful to the environment than being a fossil fool. Personally I drive an EV and buy my electricity from green sources, and am a vegan. Now bark.

@imacmill You are delusional. Opioids are some of the least harmful drugs you can use. People use them for decades on end with only minor side effects, like constipation. The problem is the antidrug laws which make users outcasts and criminals rich. You analogy is seriously flawed. Patents do not take their own lives if treated like humans and not criminalized and forced to resort to street drugs for pain and or withdrawal and when they do die it is usually an overdose due to street drugs unregulated potency. Both Switzerland and Portugal have proven this with enlightened drug policies. Your statement is an example of uninformed disinformation -- just bull.

@kimberlychodur3508 So you are saying that the people who were on pain meds did not turn to street drugs because the government changed the requirement to obtain pain meds. You are incorrect.

The precursors that are used to manufacture synthetic opioids are sourced in China, mostly by Mexican drug cartels. Our stupid drug laws have made the most vicious criminals on earth billionaires.

Nah, it will be your grandchildren who devour their own children in order to live a bit longer when all the crops fail due to climate change. Of course they will also curse the present generations for knowing that 87% of greenhouse gases come from animal agriculture and persisting in eating meat and dairy despite knowing what it would do to them.
