  2.  @Anointed012  There is no "country" outside of the people who inhabit it. There is no United States of America outside of it's citizens. What living Americans do you imagine benefited from slavery or participated in it? Most Americans are from families who immigrated here after slavery was abolished. Even in the south not many people actually owned slaves. If you know real history then you know that almost everyone has ancestors that were slaves or serfs who were not free to leave the land they worked on or travel. Try to understand that: Almost everyone has ancestors that were slaves during one period or another. Why do you think that people who had nothing to do with enslaving others or trading in slaves owe anything to people who like themselves had ancestors who were slaves? Maybe the Italians and the Vatican should give me money because the Romans took some of my ancestors as slaves -- right? Why not? It makes as much sense as you getting something from someone who had nothing to do with the enslavement of your ancestors. Cuba had three times more slaves brought from Africa than the USA. Brazil had five times as many. Should they get reparations too? From who? Other mixed descendants of slaves? How about the vast majority of African American folks who are part white: Do they have to pay themselves reparations? Get real. Most of the African slaves that were taken were taken by other Africans and Arab slavers and sold to the Europeans at the coast or even at islands off the shore of Africa. Why don't you ask Saudi Arabia for reparations? It is most likely Arabs who actually enslaved you ancestors. The Arab raiders took slaves from Europe too. For over two centuries no European coastal town was safe from their slaving raids that went as far north as Iceland. There were so many white slaves being sold in the Jewish run slave markets in northern Africa that it was cheaper to buy new slaves than to care for them and feed them. Almost all were worked to death and left few descendants. But that probably doesn't impact your world view. Get over it.
