Suggestion: If you are going to protest and you are near police, do not keep your feet in the normal standing position when they are near enough to shove you. Keep one foot a few feet ahead of the other pointed forward and the back one at a right angle to it and when they come near brace yourself with your back foot. You can still be shoved but you will not so easily topple.
