Or perhaps we need a new governmental system that has an entirely new relationship to the dynamics of capitalism. The foremost concern of such a new system should be how to proof it against the inevitable infestation by persons with strong psychopathic or sociopathic impulses. Because they will inevitably find support in the ignorant, the stupid, and the belief rather than evidence based portions of the populace, not to mention those lower level scoundrels who wish to gain power through an association with such a psychopath who has risen to power: the sycophants, toadies, and yes-men.

@mjinba07 Well said. Like the Norse gods. We must strive with all our might even though we know that the outcome is inevitable and that evil will win in the end. Actually I do not think that the outcome is inevitable, but I do think this is the right mind-set to from which to strive against the power elite and their hideous manipulations and greed.

@StephieGsrEvolution How do I catalogue your errors, let me count the ways. Well, i am not a libertarian. I absolutely do understand capitalism. You may ascribe all the distasteful aspects of collective human behavior to a particular economic system but that would be naive and simply simplistic. I could for instance point out that the most heinous acts of the power elite in history were the acts of self-declared anti-capitalist leaders like Stalin and Mao who together murdered about a hundred million of their own people, with no capitalism involved. I could point out that the most desirable countries to live in are all socialist in government, but rely on controlled capitalist segments of their society to fund the whole shebang, like in Denmark, Norway, and their ilk. Or I could point out the failure of all modern nations that deplored capitalism. Or that until it embraced the capitalist dynamic the people of China periodically ate tree bark or each other. I could perhaps point out that there are no purely capitalist countries. I could point out that markets predate even the idea of capitalism by thousands of years, yet those countries that thrived did so because of markets. I could point out that even though the Spanish empire literally owned a mountain made of silver it was superseded by the Netherlands, merely because the Netherlands developed a stock market. But before I go on to great extent, I think anybody with a bit of perception and perspective could easily see the fact that blaming the manifestation of negative human behaviors on an economic system is naive and simplistic and anyone with two neurons to rub together can see that historically they have been there all along, no matter the economic systems in play. I further see in your response that you have absolutely no idea what I was indicating by the words RetroConfucian TechnoMeritocracy. But carry on with your partisan narrative, it is no better or worse than most of the disinformation out there. Or better yet, develop a viable alternative that will actually work. I have one, but like your response has indicated, with those whom can only look at the future through a rear-view mirror: really new ideas will not fly. Well said, and as is usually the case the most intelligent and insightful comments get no likes or responses. The formulation of a benign and aspirational system is easy, the implementation without political instability is impossible. The reason for this is simple: the people who continue to under perform in the face of this impending catastrophe control the men with the uniforms and heavy weapons.

@StephieGsrEvolution Well I agree, with you, but you are not replying to my post at all. The dynamics of capitalism is not capitalism par say. And we could certainly rid ourselves of sociopaths in power, this could be easily done, all that is lacking is the will to change to a system that is determined not by emotions and disinformation, but by testing and performance in virtual scenarios as would be the case in a sort of RetroConfucian TechnoMeritocracy. I could literally work out the details of such a system in a weekend, and so could any eighth grade class with a little guidance. These things are only thought to be impossible because almost everything is impossible apparently with the exception of useless wars that kill innocents by the hundreds of thousands, in our present idiotic take on a anachronistic system.

Facebook is evil. They consciously choose evil. When you interact on facebook you are personally supporting evil in the world. Evil is always convenient. Compare and contrast Facebook and Google. Facebook knows by their own research that Facebook use is psychologically harmful to young females-- response -- no changes. Google gives the world the AI computed shapes of all the known proteins used in human metabolism, the medical achievement of the decade if not the century -- given to humanity for free. People use facebook because it programs them to be divisive idiots and because they do not realize the extent of the inference engines that FB uses and how they are continually manipulated. On the most important level anyone who supports FB, by using it, is part of the problem.

My friend, fossil fuels were not a choice, that anyone made it was just a natural development of human civilization. Burning dung is dirtier than most fossil fuels, Burning wood is more polluting than heating with gas. Just like we moved on from burning dung and wood, we must now move on from burning oil and even natural gas, and the time is approaching faster than most realize when clean sources of energy will predominate. Firstly in the affluent countries then in time in most.

@branquinho8444 I did some research on EVs some time ago and have found that they were first developed in the 1800s, and they were even economically viable production-wise at about the time of the American Civil War. I was kinda stunned to find this out. Of course the big problem was not much range and no charging network at all. ICE vehicles did not present this problem as all you needed was someone with a big tank to hold gas and sell it to people, not a whole electrical grid. I mean people did not even have electricity in their homes yet. So. . . I did see that documentary about the GM electric cars that were all crushed. If you had one today it would be worth a fortune. Apparently the people who had them liked them very much despite the range issue. Tesla is to be coming out with a 20k EV soon and that will mean a lot. And they do have a viable charging network, that they are going to make available to everyone, including their competition. Personally I like Tesla quite a bit, a corporation with ethics and vision. I have my order in for a cybertruck and hope by the time they are released I can afford one.

Kudos Bro. People will dismiss the impact of individual acts and behavior as inconsequential, but they are wrong, and probably jaded partisans of one bend or another just trying to use a crisis to push their pet narrative. The truth is, that if we reforested the woodlands that have been cleared since 1800, and only grazed animals on natural grasslands with natural predation that would keep them in tight herds that move around freely, we would have no climate crisis at all, even with the present level of pollution. Thank you for your behavioral contribution. Truly anyone who really cares and wishes to help will help greatly over the course of their lifetime by abstaining from the products of animal agriculture.

@lisamurdoch2525 Animal agriculture is responsible for more greenhouse gas than any other factor. Not because of cow farts, extremely inefficient way of producing nutritious food, or energy usage, although they certainly are factors, but because of the forested lands that have been cleared and used for grazing lands, like the holocaust that is taking place in the forests of Brazil. If the world was reforested to the level that it had in 1800, eighty seven percent of the green house gases would be in the trees and not the atmosphere. Natural herd fauna have nothing to do with it and are not even used in the calculation of green house gases. Because the free movement of natural herds under the natural intense predation they are subject to actually decreases green house gases by increasing the viability of natural flora that they trample and fertilize. But animal agriculture is a whole different story. One you apparently know little but disinformation about. Narratives supported by the meat and dairy corporations that fund the studies that throw doubt upon this subject. Just like big tobacco found out. All you have to do is sow doubt about the obvious problem and it is enough to curtail effective action, at least for a bit longer so they can profit as long as possible.

Well said. And before it was the Pandora Papers it was the Panama Papers, which reported exactly the same thing. And this great revelation amounted to nothing real. I expect the same from the present revelation. Power corrupts. We all know this and continue to ignore it. Power should never be given to anyone who seeks it. Even the Greeks knew this a few thousand years ago.

@tobeyknolls6924 But from a purely aesthetic assessment, isn't it kind of beyond fiction that the man who has spread more disinformation than any other American leader in all of history (over 25k verified public lies during his term) has accused the news media of being fake. It would be genuinely hilarious if 70 million voters didn't buy into the big lie, and the 24,999 other lies that he told. That is the disaster of our current populace, most, no matter what their politics are incapable of discerning fact from fiction. They don't even know how to verify the legitimacy of studies and statistics. So sad that it is kind of funny. A real laugh or cry situation.

The populace as individuals is not wise enough to govern itself. This can be overcome by the ignition of epigenetic dynamics of collective intelligence, but not in the presence of a culture rife with disinformation, spin, and partisan narratives. Chomsky has great hope in youthful activism. I do not share his optimism. Not while apparently the great mass of the human population on earth is incapable of telling fact or at least accuracy that for all practical purposes approaches fact like quantum mechanic, from fiction.
