The children are forced to suffer the dangerous results of their parent's ignorance. It's one thing to delete yourself from the gene pool due to stubborn ignorance, it is quite another to impose them on those in your care.

I would say it is far more likely that the internet exposed the lack of empathy that was always present.

It is obvious to almost everyone that it is you who has been left behind -- in the iron age. Did you know that the gospels were not written by Christ's disciples but by Greeks: more than half a century after the events reported?

The idea that there are two parties in opposition is a ruse used to keep the peons like us divided and powerless. Democrats are a major part of the problem, and would have to morph drastically to be part of the solution. It's all slight of hand. The same people own both parties, and we hardly ever hear anything about them, because they want it that way.

@andrewg2024 The internet is a big place. Social media can be brutal, but if you go to science and educational based venues it is quite mild-mannered. I am usually the most offensive numbskull in the exchanges in those places.

@jenniferr9624 True enough, but there is no, "There is no god" either. The reality of the situation is not only more wonderful than we imagine, it is more wonderful than we are capable of imagining. Just thought I would venture that silly statement despite the impossibility of it conveying what it I intend it to.

@Mason 'The Fib Doctor' Marangella I hear you. For a little while I was of the notion that the whole thing is social Darwinism in action. But really, tens of millions of the people who won't get vaccinated and deny facts in favor of fantasies that appeal to their feeling, would have to die in order for the USA to reach herd immunity against stupidity. So . . . that notion lost it's appeal.

@Mason 'The Fib Doctor' Marangella Sad affair. The uber-functionality of the epigenetics manifestations of democratic decisions cannot work in the absence of truth and facts that are not obscured by disinformation and spin.

@Mason 'The Fib Doctor' Marangella No geniuses here abouts but Let me put it this way. If a large enough number of people are asked to guess how many jelly beans are in a huge urn, the average of all guesses is usually more accurate than any single guess. This phenomenon would also apply to political choices in a democracy, IF all the information that the electorate had about any given issue were just actual facts unobscured by spin and disinformation. \ In this way even though the complexity of any particular issue was beyond the comprehension of the individual members of the electorate, the same kind of epigenetic function that allows something like an ant colony to preform complex behaviors far beyond the behavioral repertoire of any individual ant, would come into play in the results of issues that were voted upon. . . . sorta
