Sacredness does not reside in places or objects. Sacredness has only ever resided in the possibility of a quantum leap in the functioning of the nervous and limbic systems of man. This is reflected in such phrases as "The enlightened see the Buddha in a piece of dung." Human progress and the scientific advancement of humanity has been the hostage of ignorance and superstition for far too long. I am sure that many of the protestors feel to the depths of their hearts that there is something sacred about this mountain in particular. This is a delusion. If they were really concerned with the "sacred" they would only be concerned with the possibility of bringing about the evolution of their own conscious awareness. This confrontation has nothing to do with the sacred. It is really just a pissing contest. The difference between this and most other protests is that this is based on lies and delusions, no matter how traditional the lies have become. The sooner humanity rids itself of all the flying spaghetti monsters, the better. If you cannot feel the sacred equally whereever you are, you are just an unenlightened imbecile who has never really pursued the matter to any significant depth.
