Please inform me of these non-muclear weapons of nuclear strength. The practical maximum yield-to-weight ratio for fusion weapons (thermonuclear weapons) has been estimated to six megatons of TNT per metric ton of bomb mass (25 TJ/kg). Yields of 5.2 megatons/ton and higher have been reported for large weapons constructed for single-warhead use in the early 1960s. Since then, the smaller warheads needed to achieve the increased net damage efficiency (bomb damage/bomb mass) of multiple warhead systems have resulted in decreases in the yield/mass ratio for single modern warheads.

@johnwattdotca True, but that's not what you said. People can certainly immediatly occupy the rubble left after conventional bombardment, and they can even eventually reoccupy cities that have been incinerated by nuclear bombs as Japan clearly demonstrates. We even have nuclear devices that will just kill the people and other animals and leave the structures intact. But we certainly do not have conventional weapons that mimic the power of even low to middling power thermonuclear devices. The devices used on Japan were low powered compared to today's nukes, even the mother of all bombs pales in comparison. Not that it really matters, nobody is going to use nukes other than some renegade nonstate org. who overruns a nuclear arms supply. Even the psychopaths who run the world and keep us divided are not that stupid.

Very high probability that if not for MAD we would have had WW3 fifty years ago. Recent Russian developments in hypersonic and doomsday autonomous weapons are not mentioned. One such undetectable weapon set off on the ocean floor off the US coast would send a 100 meter tall tsunami that would destroy the entire tri state area. The only hope for peace on any large scale like we have been privileged with since the end of WW2 is dependent on making war unthinkable --even by the hawks. The human lust for violence and domination of the enemy mentality that has been instilled in the population by leaders and the one percent whose only motivation is to maintain and increase their power can only be quelled by the threat of wholesale distruction of civilization in minutes. It is most unfortunate but that is the hand we allowed the leaders and power elite (mostly psychopaths) to deal us. So far sane men have not faired well in politics because the populace is driven to insane beliefs by continual bombardment of disinformation from all quaters, and Democracy Now is not exempt from this dynamic (though certainly less culpable than most).
