  1. Jeff Sessions is obviously an idiot that no amount of factual information will dissuade from an approach that is a failure from the get go. The only ones that will benefit from his approach are the gangsters that profit from a price that is determined by their products status as contraband, and the bankers who wash the billions in criminal profits that are only possible because of idiots like Sessions. Unlike Portugal, Switzerland and any number of sane countries that have taken a sane approach to recreational molecules and who has the right to say what you put in your own body this idiot wants to drag us back to the Harry Anslinger days of hysterical stupidity.

  2. It is not legal to grow opium poppies, it is merely overlooked by the police. If they want to, they can prosecute for any number of offenses. However being as the poppy seeds on your bagel and in your strudel are delicious opium poppy seeds, this is all a grey area that unfortunately may eventually be addressed by clear cut restrictions.

  3. Perhaps you haven't noticed that the dried opium poppy pods that you are talking about were quietly taken off the market several years ago. Next will be unwashed organic poppy seeds. They would rather have you die than be in control of your own pain medication. This is apparent by the inclusion of tylenol in many codeine preparations, which is there to kill you if you decide to get really high.
