HL Muench No that is merely an ancillary result of the real problem 1: Campaign Finance. It needs to be banned entirely and candidates with enough following given free public air time during scheduled events for a few weeks and that is it. No contributions at all.

Cynthia Drangus Lady Quite right. The ONLY democracy in the world is Switzerland. USA was never a democracy because the founding fathers were mostly elitists who did not trust the mercurial appetites of the mob. In history there is also a total dearth of democracies. Not one anywhere. Not even in the golden age of Greece. Democracy outside of Switzerland is just a marketing ploy. A deceptive label. In order to have a well functioning real democracy there must be extreme penalties for reporting nonfactual stories as the facts about events. That is the only way it will endure and prosper. We live in a country whose apex leader tells an average of ten outright lies every day to the public. We actually live in a camouflaged fascist state.

@bengom68 No doubt, one of many places that profit from that sort of thing. Nevertheless it is still the only democracy that I am aware of. As far as I know the USA has the most mercenaries these days. I think you are talking about the middle ages and the Swiss Guard at the Vatican? I think that the UK and offshore banks are the biggest launderers of the criminal billions that our idiotic drug laws put in the hands of savages in Mexico and elsewhere.
