Not so. Facts mean nothing to people who are convinced by lies. "It is easier to deceive a person than to convince them that they have been deceived." If you really think that facts matter to these pinheads you haven't been paying attention for the last fifty years.

I tried to find out if Democracy Now uses green energy and was unable to come up with any answer. I bet that most of the people who are simpatico with the motives of Democracy Now have not even taken the most simple step of changing their electricity supplier over from coal burning producers to Green producers. It is a painless and totally free thing to do, in fact when I switched to green electricity my bill went down considerably. If you haven't done this primary action, you should basically shut up about the entire issue. I know it's just too much to ask most people to give up their rapacious use of animals as food, which would greatly help quell climate change, but switching to green energy is really asking them to give up nothing. Just do it -- today.

@Earwaxfire909 Good luck with that, but facts don't stand a chance against people's preferred "alternative facts". In general it's real simple, if they don't like it, they won't believe it. And that is a fact.

I lived in California for thirty years then had to help out my family back east. It was actually less expensive for me to live in Santa Cruz than in a small town in PA. The price of real estate and rent is very high in CA but the cost of food especially organic food is much much less, and the fact that you don't need a/c or heat in much of the coastal areas more than makes up for it. But in general there were just as many jerks there as here, just of a different political tint. Despite this the population was far better educated and more intelligent than most other states I have lived in.

@geraldscarff8097 Spoken like a man without any intelligence at all.

delreydavid Cows have their own motivation for existence quite like you. It's called the survival instinct and it has nothing to do with you finding them useful. By your reasoning there would be no deer, no elk, no animals at all that we don't use for food. But I doubt that you have the intelligence to realize how dumb your comment is.

@Earwaxfire909 yep

I don't know where the heck you live, but were I live there are help wanted signs in front of almost every commercial building some as high as $40 and hour but none of them is less than $15 an hour. So if that is your problem -- move.

@dansiwek3593 Plus they are stupid enough to think that YouTube has censors that aren't just machines that use logarithms to determine if a reply gets censored or not.

@maggie960-f2n I do miss Cali.

@dianahill7239 You do need help.

delreydavid You mean that they no longer live in the wild. And like most species that inhabited earth at one point or another they are extinct in their wild form. But your argument is purely rhetorical and sounds like some pointless freshman debate point. It seems I was correct in assuming that you could not understand why your comment was ridiculous. A cow does not have a motivation to be used for food. Do you even comprehend how idiotic your statements are? And how they have nothing at all to do with the fact that eating meat is a huge negative as far as climate change is concerned. Of course you don't because you don't like this so you won't believe it. You no doubt have alternative "facts". Facts that you find agreeable but which have nothing to do with reality. What is the number one cause of the generation of green house gases? Not ICE vehicles, not coal fired electric plants -- animal agriculture.

@tomfromoz8527 Well I did answer you but it seems to have disappeared or been censored for some reason. You can just google it. Google how to switch to green energy in your state. I didn't even have to fill anything out to do this in PA. In fact I did it on the site run by my former electricity supplier. Good luck

delreydavid I surely would not expect someone with the intelligence you exhibit to take facts seriously enough to modify their behavior for the benefit of humanity. You are surely right in the middle of the bell curve and like the middle of the bell curve think yourself special and real smart. And obviously you are the center of the universe and should not be expected to make even the most minuscule sacrifice to benefit others. Even though you consumption of meat is undermining your own health in dozens of ways I could not expect the center of the universe to give a darn about that because you are probably going to live after you die, so what does it matter? Hint: in case you haven't figured it out, there is no life after death, and in your case there is serious question as to whether there is life during life.

@brian2440 Thank you for your meaningless comment. I now pay a green producer for my electricity. I used to pay a fossil fuel based company. The same company still maintains the physical infrastructure. You should join a Freshman debating team because they are always bringing up pointless points as if they have some relevance to the matter at hand. The matter at hand is that my money, except for what goes to maintaining the distribution infrastructure and billing goes to a green company. Stay confused if you want to, it's free, and you seem to enjoy complicating the simple.

Don't by ICE vehicle at all. Buy EV SUVs is fine.
1
@counselthyself Get in touch with reality. Look out the window once in awhile. People are not going to give up buying SUVs because you don't like them. They are going to buy them because they are the most versatile vehicle a family can own. They may however be open to the alternative of buying an electric SUV and that is a vast improvement over an ICE SUV as far as the environment is concerned. Also you really don't have any idea whether or not we can build ourselves out of the vector of environmental degradation that we are now on. You really don't know, all you know is that it doesn't fit in with your assumptions which are based on biased analysis of limited information. So thanks for your opinion. My opinion is that you are absolutely incorrect and that we are going to get over the hump of fossil fuel use by building and investing our way out of it.

Your narrative is wanting in the face of media organizations who have made it their purpose in life to lie to the public 24/7, and right wing nuts who believe the nonsense made up by the Qanon stoners living in their moms basements. When lie are spread continually and what most people believe has nothing to do with the facts, then censorship is most appropriate unless you aim is the destruction of society.
