It’s the only country that still HEAVILY relies on fax machines. Personally, I love its mixed futuristic-retro tech style. However, it’s terrible for scale and profit margins. The country does thing domestically with amazing efficiency (the fact that you can ship 3 pieces of heavy luggage to your next hotel for about $35 and get them same day is insane). But the practices are not fit for export.

I always find it amazing that different countries’ product designs, from food packaging to jets, always retain a distinctive style with Japan’s the most distinctive IMO. I loved living in Japan because I always found their aesthetic deeply beautiful.

This happens with so many Japanese projects. They have so much pride that they waste huge amounts before grudgingly allowing foreign experts in and then still try to marginalize them. However, Japan wouldn’t be one of the few truly unique, non-homogenized countries, if it weren’t for this.

@Theoryofcatsndogs SpaceX is a terrible example for economies of scale. And you’re flat wrong about Tesla, which like any car, gets parts from subcontractors all over the world despite the the fact that electric cars use significantly fewer parts.

It’s funny you mentioned flashing lights. The Soviet LOVED flashing lights. It made all their systems look so cool. Their nuclear plant control rooms looked like something straight out of a Star Trek production.

@termitreter6545 Every country and company does that. Welcome to the human race. I have a dim view of modern capitalism/government overlap, particularly the financial services sector which is simply a vampire industry, but your statement is absurd in its level of hyperbole and naivety.

China is one big pyramid scheme. Its real estate crash will drags us all down. That’s not even considering all its banking fraud and scam investments.

We have spotted it, but it’s incredibly hard to disrupt their power and influence when money in politics is considered free speech.

You got tons of reads. Congrats.

Destroyed via zero fault of its own and completely because of the Central Bank of Japan, which intentionally destroyed the economy in an effort to get Japan to change its economic model.

One of the reasons computers also failed was because cybernetics was considered hostile or incompatible with communist ideology. An old school Soviet dictionary has a rambling definition of cybernetics in which it is called a reactionary technology of the bourgeoisie and was being developed for (of course) evil reasons. Mind you, this was a dictionary defintion.

This is standard stuff for mega projects around the world. Those delays were about average.

@penskepc2374 I’m a fan too.

You message was confusing. Did you think I was being sarcastic or accusing you of something?

@ayoutubecommenter1827 I totally get it. I wish I had those some of those old machines just to see them flashing. They remind of the scenes w/Ivan Drago training.
