WWI Austro-Hungaria might be the most hapless, ill-led military of all time. Conrad Von Hotzendörf had always wanted to guy to war (ironically, it was Archduke Ferdinand always saying no and with him out of the way, he finally could) where he failed to win a single battle and Germany spent the entire war rescuing them.
4
He could have accomplished more commanding trawlers assuming the crews were Norwegian fishermen than he could with the Russian navy.
4
“French crews unwilling to continue the fight.” Whhaaaaat?! 😱
4
I’m going to ignore ships from the major navies such as Japan, Germany, France… ”The second ship on the list is French.” 😂
4
It should also be noted that if Norris had paid attention to recent history, he may have been aware that King John I of Castile had failed capture Lisbon with a siege featuring massive siege force and a naval blockade with Lisbon being defended by an absolutely tiny force.
4
@SportyMabamba Soon that will change to them screaming “SeaBabies spotted!” and then shelling Norwegian trawlers off the coast of Jutland.
4
I believe its wood construction also massively aided in its low radar returns.
4
It’s always hard to tell the navy crewed by mimes apart from the navy with red checker cloth tables across its deck.
4
Lieutenant Rasczak should serve as a role model for all liberals or better yet everyone.

@STOPDELETINGMYCOMMENTSFASCISTS Sorry to hear that. I don’t consider them the “greatest generation” just because of WWII, but because they survived and thrived during such changing times. We should be utilizing seniors who can and want to use their experience to help out. Hell, most would work for free just to help out. Before I got my own trailer, I was paying an 80 year old retired fireman hauling my race car to events. He’s constantly towing race cars and huge trailers around the country and loves it.

@hanovergreen4091 Slava Omnissiah & Heroiam Slava!
4
Forget all those things. Dude had a massive brain.
4
@larrytischler570 It’s a literal tragedy cause he would have saved lives.
3
Woolloongabba is my last name!
3
Thank you. I had zero idea how these guns were actually built and assembled prior to this video.
3
I thought it’d been more like ten to be honest.
3
Can we congratulate OP being the 500th million person to post a “can we…” compliment “question” on YouTube.
3
It is very attractive I also find the Georgios Averof extremely stunning. Much better looking than anything produced during WWII, but obviously less intimidating.
3
I think I first saw it when I was like 6. Every school takes a field trip to the Museum of Science & Industry. For some reason, as a little kid, I always thought it had been used in the lake (Lake Michigan).
3
Ching Lee would have never let those torpedoes slip through. I bet it would literally take him 5 mins to fix them.
3
I’d rather defect than command this “fleet”
3
@SciFiAddict189 You’re right. I am.
3
@hanzzel6086 I am aware drones are playing the most important role on the battlefield in basically almost every area (ISR, armor attacks, infantry suppression, dropping mines behind enemy lines, at critical junctions, etc., ABDA, artillery correction, etc. It’s still different than what I’m talking about. Consider the fact this is the first war we’ve drones used at this scale and in this many roles. So, we’re still in the infancy of drones.
3
@chrisanderson8207 We should pay reparations to England IMO. No excuse for ruined tea or all the broken monocles of gentleman who read about it in the newspaper.
3
@John.0z Oh, I just glanced and responded. Reread and realize you’re talking about David Hahn. That was fairly recently. Early 90s. I remember watching a great documentary about that.
3
Either way, I hate when everything started getting safe and no fun. You used to be able to actual cool stuff, do dangerous things at amusement parks, etc. Life is so sanitized now, especially for kids.
3
“7 Frigates” is even better.
3
There’s a Forces article entitled “From HMS Cockchafer to HMS Pansy: Why would you call a ship that?!” For all of his accomplishments, Winston Churchill was perhaps not best known for his judgement in the naming of ships, having once been adamant that HMS Pitt would be a fitting title for a battleship. HMS Cherub definitely makes the list.
3
This battle, while like all battles being horrific, is also very comedic.
3
Such a gorgeous ship if you see the full modern documentary or visit it in person. It looks like it’s fresh from the shipyard. While it has rich woods and copper everywhere, it still actually look fairly modern.
3
Thank god you were on your toes!
3
The Amity looks absolutely tiny. I can’t imagine crossing the abyss in that thing.
3
The opening does have oddly romantic vibes. lol

Activities like that and many others mentioned in comments are far more effective in generating recruits for the armed services than TV ads. A few of the branches are finally relearning this.

@anthonydolan3740 🎶 Kongo, Key Largo, Kanji, oh Yamamoto’s where I want to go. 🎶
2
You’re agitating alright.
2
@josephvarno5623 I was kidding. It wasn’t meant to be an insult. Breath in and out and relax.
2
Your first pronunciation was no doubt correct, but you’re right that in America the second pronunciation you gave is how 99% of Americans say it. There are many towns here named Decatur.
2
God, that paint job is really sexy.
2
Are there any other stories of birds blocking periscopes? That’s absolutely hilarious.
2
The Walter Cronkite story is too cool.
2
Thank you for your tour guide.
2
Is it me or did they make legionary Quintus look extremely simian? It almost seems intentional.
2
No. It was a breeze.
2
How many sailors joined the navy after misunderstanding what “the engine rooms have full time blowers” meant?
2
Unexpected heart attack?! Not unexpected at all. 😂
2
Many of the “greatest generals” of the Middle Ages were just dudes who didn’t do incredibly stupid things like Norris.
2
@speed150mph To be fair, most cornered armies and navies fight bravely to the death. Probably has something to do with fighting for the man next to them.
2
@welbhloud It will glow blue anytime the RN is near if it’s real.
2
For an animatronics engineer, Drach sure knows his ships. Anyway, I am amazed at how strictly the US Navy followed the treaty rules.
