  1. WWI Austro-Hungaria might be the most hapless, ill-led military of all time. Conrad Von Hotzendörf had always wanted to guy to war (ironically, it was Archduke Ferdinand always saying no and with him out of the way, he finally could) where he failed to win a single battle and Germany spent the entire war rescuing them.
