  1. It’s sad, but he’s not in a zoo. He’s in a refuge for illegally owned pets. Hopefully, there are other macaques there because they’re even more social than humans.

  3. I’d agree, but there’s not enough food source for them in the Scottish wilds. Anyway, Macaques are one of the most widespread animals. About as common as deer or squirrels. So, it’s not like some bengal tiger 🐅 in captivity. Also, it’s not a zoo. So, presumably, this animal was rescued from illegal private ownership.
