  2. I’m not even sure if Putin is told about the Belgorod incursions. Ceaușescu literally thought the country was thriving when the people rose up. For the two days he was on the run, he thought all the poverty he saw in the Romanian countryside was staged by Western intelligence services as were the mass protests. Putin is equally cutoff and equally paranoid.
