  4. Ironically, a small number of casualties for the size of the armies and the usual scale of dead and wounded for the time. However, according to this video’s numbers, the casualties were much greater.

  5. These Union assaults reek of sheer incompetence and lack of imagination. Richard Kirkland was a bright spot here. What a shame he would die in 1863. Man set an example for both sides.
