  1. They did show little gratitude, but I think Jake misunderstood their reasoning for saying what they said. Also, since Putin has a lot of his friends and family in prison, he could easily have said “campaign to lift sanctions or they’ll know pain you could never imagine.”

  2. Yup, 90% of the fighting took place in Ukraine despite many ignorantly calling Soviet occupied blocs “Russia.” Leningrad was just a salient that was the final location of part of an already worn down German army. And, unlike Ukrainian cities, the city had months to prepare massive defenses.

  3. Yup, because 85% of Ukrainians (there is always a selfish slice anywhere) are fully mobilized, donating or volunteering, if they’re not fighting and basically no one in Russia is.

  4. And they can’t afford to keep paying men who’ve never held a rifle before the equivalent of 6 years Russian average salary as a contract bonus. Sadly, because of the GOP blocking aid for so long, 🇺🇦 is very low on manpower too. However, Ukraine is actually training tens-of-thousands of men before they get sent out. But it’s going to be hard going for the men holding out until they finally get there.
