Our Ukraine aid is de facto free: 85% of it was stuff we were PAYING to dispose of and was paid for decades ago. And it’s brought in so many new arms customers.

Like a swarm of fungus, the Russians and MAGA spread. I love he’s just constantly making up stuff off the cuff like “delinquent NATO customers” or that border actually would allow 5k in a day. His fans eat it up.

Don’t thank France until their aid is delivered. They’ve been awful in their support.

@georgek1234 It’s really frustrating that due to Biden’s age he hasn’t figured this messaging out for himself (if he had made these points in 2023 the “cost” issue would have never arose), his staff are clueless identity politics focused hacks and he has a VP who can’t pinch hit because she has no idea how to communicate and is insanely unlikeable (worst of all, she’s most unpopular with minority voters who they assumed would automatically support her - ironically racist IMO). Hell, when asked what she brings to the table for the re-election, she said she didn’t need to explain herself to voters or the media. What?!

@1justme That’s another problem: for global optics they inflated the value of the arms packages* to make it look as if we were doing soooo much, which meant they could have given a lot more if they had used realistic pricing. *This is one item I could be wrong on: I’ve tried to figure out if there are formalized rules they must adhere to on how they value military aid which already has a set formula which means the figures were set in stone, but I doubt it.

@ClannCholmain I am aware. But it’s been clear for a while. His frothing at the mouth base don’t care about anything he’s done as long as he “owns the libs.” That and he simply lies about everything and his base believe him (recent example: GOP senators drafted a strict border bill that would shut down the border once 5,000 encounters had been reached and all approximately 5,000 immigrants would be processed and deported the same day. Trump said the bill would allow in 5,000 immigrants per day and then shut down and 99.9% of Republicans believed him and went NUTS on the few Republicans who stood by the bill after Trump let it be known he wanted it killed). There’s no reasoning with them.

@irishcanuck9489 Biden isn’t stupid. He’s senile. And, while he makes a mess of interviews and speeches, his admin’s actual results are very strong: economy is thriving w/moderate inflation being the only weakness in the economy, he’s passed more bills than Trump’s term and Obama’s last term did combined, including wide sweeping critical infrastructure projects that we’ve been trying to get done for 20 years, lower prescription costs for families, etc. Unemployment is at a 50-year low. Domestic manufacturing is really starting to take off. This was quickly done too before the GOP claimed the speakership and went into we won’t pass anything no matter how good for America it is if Trump doesn’t endorse it or a single democrat let alone Biden was involved in drafting it. So, yeah, all this “the sky is falling” is just noise produced by social media, the GOP and their media empire. It’s also due to the fact that because Biden has really started losing the plot, he hasn’t even bothered to remind Americans about what he’s passed, what was in it, etc.

@KillerRabbit1975 SCALP is great, but it’s been given in small quantities. Besides that, they’ve given a decent number of the very good Caesar, but that’s about it besides the worthless AMX. 🇫🇷 is Europe’s 2nd biggest economy and they’ve given less than Lithuania, which is 64x smaller (€715m in arms vs France’s €433m). Germany meanwhile, despite its slow start, is approaching the €20b mark. So, just a cool 4,000% more.
