I don’t want them to negotiate, but I think Russia has been so truly weakened and Putin so terrified, if he was given some consolation concession to avoid regime change, I don’t think he’d dare try again. And even if he wanted to do, the elites wouldn’t let him let alone the economy. Again, I don’t think they should give him anything, but I no longer think this is a case of tricky Russia bidding for time.

  2.  @marresjepie1887  He wasn’t whining about anything. He literally said they thought they might not be able to afford the energy bill for a custom and how it didn’t happen. He wasn’t saying “oh we’ve got it so hard” or “we don’t like this war because of energy costs.” PAY ATTENTION.

  3.  @Silveirias  The problem with the world is that most people are quite dim. It’s amazingly sad how unsophisticated people are. Their comprehension skills are why most movies have a scene where they basically explain the plot in an exposition dump.

  4. People were terrified of Stalin even when he was stroke paralyzed and pissing himself. I think it’s a fantasy that some Kremlin insider is going to take out Putin. Putin isn’t Stalin, but today’s Russians are far softer than they were then. So, their fear of Putin is likely similar. They can also be too close to the situation to see exactly how weak his situation has become.
