Normally, I tell new drivers to get a slow car as their first race/track only car, but ‘Ring is one of the few tracks you actually need some power. Otherwise, you’re pegging the limiter for minutes on end + flat out easy in many sections. Still, even at the ring, something like an M3 is wayyyy too fast for racing / track newbies to hone their craft well.

Yes. You also need to hang out at the track with other racers. They’ll help you so much and besides saving you tons of $, they’ll save you from making a lot dumb mistakes. The worst thing you can really do is make your first track car a really nice car. It’ll be too fast and cost too much to run unless you’re absolutely loaded.
