Henry VII was not a direct line member of the House of Lancaster, he was related via his father who was a Welsh vassal related to the Lancasters through a lower female member of the family. The "Tudor" sigil is the combination of Lancaster and York, after all. There exists a scroll where the York line is prominent while the Tudor line is portrayed as a long, black unremarkable line beside it with few noted names apart from Henry VII. Henry in fact was exiled in France when he heard the York call to arms, being literally the furthest relative.
