  1. HOLY SMOKE. To a foreigner this is a STRANGE STRANGE concept. Here many of us just go to whatever school is closest. Sometimes that can be more than an hour away. They're more interested in the kids HAVING THE SHORTEST TRAVEL TIME and not wasting fuel.... as part of growing up you just have to LEARN TO INTERACT with any culture different from yours..... otherwise you become a wimp unable to deal with anything you don't already know. And VERY OFTEN there will be more than one culture in your school. Maybe 3 or 4.

  8. In my country you can spend over an hour on the school bus EACH WAY. And you go to the nearest school. In fact you're very highly likely to have more than one culture in your school. And that includes areas in the country because most aboriginals live in far out areas (it's a cultural connection to the land their ancestors were on).
