  2.  Jim Smith  I heard the talk YEARS ago. Some call it "outsourcing". As in they get others to do the menial tasks while they do the SKILLED things. I've seen it on a TV program and MULTIPLE business books. Get with the program. What he's saying here is a 20 year old concept.

  4. No it DOES. Paper plates for STARTERS. You know how many people blow half an hour EVERY NIGHT on a handful of dishes? And SO MANY other stupid TRADITIONS like ironing. I eat sandwiches for breakfast on the way to work so I could sleep longer. Some people use an electric shaver while driving too.

  6. BMWs have quite ling service intervals. Honestly they're mechanically a pile of plastic trash. Horrendously troublesome past the 5 year point. Especially past the 10 year point. Seen the side mirrors reflective coating come off after 6 YEARS in a 1 series. Common actually.

  8. EXACT SAME HERE. It was my parents. My sister and BIL went into business but first moved interstate to do it. I had a business as a kid and another 10 years ago and that one.... i would've got a better response if I had said I got a 16 year old pregnant..... they're too worried about getting a paycheck each week to risk ANYTHING. Rather make a little money with no risk than make LOTS more with more work and higher risk. So after years of being beat down ALSO..... I stopped telling them my ideas. Only sister and BIL know. I ALSO FOUND its a good idea to have more privacy by NOT TELLING THEM much. They can't whinge if they don't know. They don't know my ideas or plans, or the church I go to or that I'm starting to speak another language. I intend to eventually start a car wreckers but in a VERY different fashion from the standard type. I mentioned this a couple years ago to my father who goes to wreckers a couple times a year. First thing he says? "But NOBODY GOES to wreckers these days"..... yeah, except you do, but you're saying noone does.... right.....

  13. I have a family do DOWN ON business that I WON'T EVEN TELL THEM. Except my sister and BIL who are already in business with 5 employees. They kept theirs secret for a while because of the same thing. It's been 5 years and NOW they're STARTING TO get some serious traction.

  15. Errrrr. I pay less than US $30 per month NOTHING FOR THE PHONE with 80GB data and unlimited national calls and about 3 hours of foreign calls thrown in. FOR US $30. Here in Australia. I have this phone SO I CAN WALK AROUND.

  16. I wouldn't want an active investor that's going to eat my lunch. Pull out then steal my customers or start a copycat business. Or argue about how I do stuff. Chris Do talks about how you shouldn't have a business partner and for those same reasons..... i might ve wary of active investors. ESPECIALLY ones who own a fairly big share of the company. The type that could break your business if they pulled out.

They wanted to be the tip of the spear and as a result HAD TO think of new ideas and new ways of doing things/phones/software.

  23. I knew a stingypreneur. Millionaire because of stock trading BUT burned investors OVER and OVER again to the point he was getting regular death threats because his wage WAS shares in the business. So the investors would throw in truckloads of money and want a say in the business direction. BUT eventually the investors shares were diluted until HE was ONCE AGAIN majority owner and could ignore their input..... quite a number of employees (usually salesman) were running on PEANUTS like $2 an hour and PROMISES that when they'd list on the stock market they'd get a huge chunk of shares. But MEANWHILE there was FIRSTLY no salespeople, THEN they had them on peanuts, THEN they had "pamphlets whoch were blurred 90s photocopies in black and white...... I even went to a radio station with sales manager to organize ads, talked to the main guy in this few man radio station inside a building on the grounds of a CAR AUCTION PLACE..... the radio station wanted a guarantee of $250 a week and we'd be a "sponsor" and get a bunch of ads as a result. Well we shook hands on that just to have stingypreneur ring back the next day and cancel. In the end the sales manager quit (we originally done office renovations because we were in building trade and the other guy eventually became sales manager). And HE ALSO was convinced to work mainly for shares. Lost 10 grand and decided to claim a flat bed trailer the company owned to get SOMETHING. And the stingypreneur THEN said he'd call the cops to get the trailer back EVEN THOUGH the sales manager had 10 grand he'd never see because of the shares scam.

  24. MY GOD. You don't understand the people who don't buy online and have to hold something and have an ACTUAL LOCATION to get refunds. Shopping for groceries is PRIME example otherwise you end up with the small rubbish vegetables. I honestly can't believe half this list. Some I REALLY DO. But others..... you're living in a bubble.

  29. I gave up dishes YEARS ago and eat off paper plates. I'm literally cleaning pots and steak knives and MAINLY just lunch boxes. I also realized that with a few more pairs of socks, I could actually leave washing to every SECOND weekend. Due to.... reasons I can't get an automatic washing machine so.... that's the easiest option. And I run 3 machines at once.
