He had to leave because of the missing children scandal after taking 1000s of children away from their parents after applying a faulty law/rule and causing massive financial problems in the families, which never would require taking children away from parents btw, but he did. It was racist as well, targeting certain surnames. Not all of the children returned to the parents from foster homes and institutions after a year or so when Rutte had to admit that he was very wrong, hundreds did not return yet and are still missing.
