  15. Well, English pronounce ai also not right :p Like in stain and brain. The German ei must be pronounced as the English letter i. Like in Einstein. The Dutch ei has another different pronunciation, not German ai or English i.

  17. The English had the 'Great Vowelshift' in fairly recent history. They spoke like Germans and Dutch more, but now not at all any more. Some English words sound still the same as German/Dutch, but have different spell, like boat.
