Do you tip everywhere or is it maybe that waiters get underpaid and that you made up a system to hide that fact and then blame customers for not paying the employee/

Do you tip the doctor, nurse, mail man, construction worker, grocery employee, teacher, anyone else in society? In Europe everyone gets paid from their employer, minimum wage guarantee etc. Maybe the people in the USA should have that also.

  34.  @nicomilord  Ok, observation is, fine, I do that all the time. But it can set a tone while comparing and mentioning continents or races orr people etc. But if you think both tipping and not tipping is fine then I agree with you. The choice is voluntary, unless it is mandated.

Anyone contributing to that begging system and employers not paying their employees as they should, keeps it in its place. A product or service has a set price and then you buy it. No begging involved.

Like: if you perform to my pleasing then I the customer will give you your salary that I will withhold if you do not perform to my pleasing. Why aren't the employees paid for the job that they do by their employer per a decent contract with the right full salary mentioned in it? The contract has a legal value with which an employee can exercise their rights. The tips are only extra and cannot be mandated on customers of course. Unless the employers makes the venue a private club and refuses customers who do not comply to the system. Then it is not a public place for all any more.

  44.  @billmelater6470  If tipping is mandatory then it is a (double) price tag on the product. Just inform the customers fully then I'd say. Not everyone of the world will know how you do it in your country. You cannot blame and shame the visitor.
