The Japanese don't like admitting they're wrong. Ever.

@mikewallace8087 So BYD is really Toyota? Give me a break...
14
Toyota do good, reliable ICE. But they've dropped the ball on EV's and now it's too late. They're screwed.
12
Thanks for stating it so boldly, Sam! I've been pushing the line on social media as hard as I can and enjoy being laughed at by ning nongs.
10
Expect to miss out then.

@msimon6808 done the maths. There's a ridiculous amount of energy coming to us from the Sun!!!
7
I'm 75 and a total fan of EV's and all things Tesla!
6
Why would Sam stoop to spreading FUD?
5
@peeemm2032 I think you should re-do your research...
5
You can make your own fuel with a few panels! Never be stuck in the donga!
4
@jonb5493 no excuses for obvious errors.
4
Toyota are toast!
4
They're both constraints, but chips are the biggest, so batteries aren't!
3
It's not the heat from burning coal or gas that's the problem, it's the CO² produced by combustion that causes global warming. The heat generated from burning the fuel is almost microscopic and completely inconsequential on a global scale!
3
If only they didn't fight dirty. Tesla doesn't.
3
@4literv6 Ford and VW are doing too little and too late. Without ridiculous levels of govt subsidisation, the legacies are toast.
3
@You-Tubing Are you a licensed financial advisor?
3
That's the effing Tories for ya!
3
The smartest thing is just to store it in batteries and make the grid cheaper.
3
@Mark US yeah, he needs his head read alright! And I'm an Aussie too!
3
No, they need energy, wherever and however it is derived!
3
@bluecollardisruptor9584 yes. 95+%.
3
It helps if you are prepared to do a bit of research for yourself.
3
@musclerent I guess you haven't looked lately then.
3
@prioris55555 references for your bs ideas on global 'cooling', please!
3
Regen and motor drive technology can bring the car to a complete halt and lock it stopped with no need for a handbrake while the car is powered on. The only need for the passive brakes is for an emergency stop where the effort required is greater than the regen can provide.
3
Why on earth did they shut down their nuclear industry!?
3
That's why UBI is so important.
3
@kiae-nirodiariesencore4270 I give it ten years tops. Renewables are going to be dirt cheap now everyone's building batteries!
3
Will it ever be available in Aus?
3
Yep, they're pretty reliable. But that's all. 2 in our family. But I'd still prefer an EV!
3
Did ICE cars pay for theirs? I thought not.
3
Hopefully Tesla will eventually offer their insurance product in Australia, then careful drivers will be well rewarded!
3
They just haven't figured out how to remove the CO² yet. Such a pity.
3
No, they don't.
3
"Analist" LOL. True. Mee too...
3
Nor the "ingenuity". The word "genius" is in there somewhere...
2
@sunrisejak2709 but no Musks...
2
@josiemcleod9877 heaps.
2
"Trying" is the operative word. "Doing" is all up to Tesla at the moment. Game almost over.
2
I doubt I'd buy it if it was cheaper than a M3! Teslas technology is so much better if you ask me.
2
The sooner the better!
2
We don't have time to waste!
2
"Much" about an extra ton.
2
The early patents were open source to encourage other mfctrs to consider EV tech.
2
It was never Toyota's race to win, only, as the incumbent, to lose. And Akio made sure of that! It's too late to make up ground now.
2
Most water pumping is done with electric motors...
2
Remember, Huawei stole all their IP tech, which is why they could undercut western maker prices...
2
Nissan is a vehicle manufacturer, not an EV company.
2
They also convert up to 20% of the incident energy into energy you can store in a battery, so also helping reduce the temperature of the roof!
