  4. I can't speak for CCN, but my impression is that the three cars really aren't very similar. The Signia is an Outback-like tall station wagon with a quiet Lexus-like vibe. The RAV4 is better for tall cargo but cheaper throughout, although the Prime probably has the most agreeable drivetrain of the three. I'd probably pick the Signia for cross-country trips and the RAV's for schlepping a couple kids.

  12.  @jasonblake2248  That's not comparable. An NX is smaller. Although I stand corrected on the starting price—I just checked Toyota's website, and it's now up to nearly $44k.

  13.  @jasonblake2248  SUVs cost more than sedans. Midsize SUVs cost more than compact SUVs like the NX or UX. And Lexuses cost more than Toyotas. The legit comparison to the Crown is the RX. And in that comparo the Crown, spec-for-spec, wins on price. When it was me, I skipped all of them and got an ES sedan. But SUVs cost more than sedans.

  14.  @jasonblake2248  Here's the real-world pricing story, told by a poster on another video: "I was in the market for a Lexus 350NXh, but here in the Pacific Northwest, the demand for that model is so high that dealers are not selling them for less than $60K all in. I paid $47K for my crown out the door and I'm happy."

  17. I hear you about overpriced, but I'd be careful of generalizing about the current crop of drivetrains. The trucks, yes, avoid those. The old-school Dynamic Force 4 without turbo, and the non-turbo hybrids, I think are still as solid as you remember.

  18. Take a trip with me into the Theater of the Mind. You can get a Crown Signia that's similar in every way to the one featured in this test, except... in different colors? Some of them, you might even like better.

  19. The Signia is probably capable in snow because of its AWD system, but the mechanical AWD system in the RAV4 is more robust and better in every way except fuel economy.

  24.  @marcdb1412  Agree in principle, but most of the Germans don't offer you a spare anymore even as an option. What's really obnoxious (and I'm not sure this car doesn't have it) is to take away navigation capabilities for you after 3 years or whenever unless you start to pay a monthly fee to keep them.

Something tells me you just like to verbally abuse strangers from your Mom's basement under an assumed name.
