Assuming Gore won in 2000, and was re-elected in 2004, the VP Joe Liberman would've most likely ran in 2008, and Obama and Hillary would've been told by the DNC to stand down, because it's Joe's turn. And assuming John McCain, not intimidated by the idea of running against a young, good-looking, suave, black man, most likely doesn't panic, and choose Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin as his running mate. Which most analysts agree is the main contributing factor to McCain losing in 2008. But instead now, he chooses a more sensible, and safer running mate, like Mitt Romney. I believe McCain easily beats Liberman in 2008. That's just my guess. But maybe Al Gore's presidency was so amazing, and 9/11 is averted, and doesn't happen, and the economy doesn't collapse, and stays great like it was under Clinton. Maybe Liberman wins in a landslide victory through all of his goodwill. But I still doubt it, because Gore couldn't win with all of Clinton's goodwill (besides the scandals).
