@CPAJayhawk You can. Just need radar jammers.

Name one SUV back in the day that was comparable to this? Nothing. Why? Because they couldn’t even build this for that years ago. This drivetrain costs 50k.

@doggedlydetermined7022 There’s nothing low end about this RSQ8. It’s just subtle and most of us love that. It’s all about looking sleek and having tons of performance without anyone knowing.

We are only missing an RSQ5 now. Audi, make it happen.

@doggedlydetermined7022 I think you are confused. VW/Audi could have just named it all one brand and had the widest variety of vehicles from 20k to million dollars, but they made sure to keep brands divided. Most parts are stamped VW. It’s all about brand divisions. Having owned most of these brands and have 36 years experience with all these brands and every brand made possible, VW parent company did it the best. They own the best brands. I love BMW and love the history behind the company. They have built an amazing brand. They are lacking supercars. Their design team is also a bit weird. Huge grills that don’t look right. The XM is all wrong. M engines have had years of issues. I still love BMW, but they still need improvement. Audi is just a division of one company by VW. They have Porsche. Porsche builds the best built cars bar none. They have Lamborghini which is by far the best built exotic car. Bentley, need I say more. BMW just has BMW.

My point to him was an RSQ8 is not in the market for average buyers. It’s not a budget vehicle. People who buy them have many and make deep six figures and there is a huge market there that was always untapped. Now there is a market for these high end specialty vehicles. 130k RSQ8 might be a ton to a lot of people, but it’s a deal for most of us looking for this type of vehicle that never existed. It’s also a super value compared to Lamborghini Urus which is just body and interior components on an RSQ8. Remember the used car market with these are gonna be amazing for people to buy 10 years down the road. People also are buying these cause they are the last of the high HP ICE super SUV’s. Audi will not make them for long.

Range Rovers are awful. I know from experience! Constant nightmares.

@epicswirl True. Not the same.

Exactly!

@JCizzleSoCal I know all about inflation. Been in car business for 36 years. I have a huge auto business. Past two years I’ve taken in an extra 1 million average per year and profit is still the same as it was 5 years ago. So my profit is down percentage wise. I pay more percentage wise wholesale than retail buyer does. Understand that the auto manufacturers themselves are still at same profit or less, even when marking prices up. If they don’t mark prices up, they go out of business and nobody gets cars. Investors have say on board. Become a board member and you’ll learn. Things cost way too much to manufacture and ship these days. Now if new cars stop being built, used cars double in value. Easy. There’s a reason why specialty cars have been marked up for 20 years. It’s a buyers market.

@dundee1080 Depreciation only happens when nobody wants them used. These are highly desirable and wanted used. It’s one of the most fun SUV’s.

Well it’s not a budget vehicle. Still lots of them out there.

@doggedlydetermined7022 Audi does have its performance brand. It’s called Lamborghini. Lamborghini is Audi. What does BMW offer comparative to Lamborghini? BMW doesn’t even own a higher brand within its brand. I also love BMW too, but the whole VW family built vehicles are on another level. VW, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, Bentley. BMW has BMW and Mini Cooper.

@doggedlydetermined7022 Audi has basic daily driver cars that are safe, all wheel drive, built super strong, and reliable. Then they have S models that are more performance while still having great road manners. Then they have RS models that are even more performance while still having amazing road manners, all while not looking over the top. Then you have the R8, which is a Lamborghini Huracan in a business suit. R8 is an piece of art for the Audi brand. It’s for those who want a Huracan without looking like a Huracan. Drive one and you’ll understand why, it’s one of Audis best. The V10 is a masterpiece! It’s build quality is superb! It’s comfort is great. The sound and excitement are next level. BMW doesn’t build anything like an R8. All they had was an M1, which is old and fragile now. Still an Icon for BMW, but unfortunately they killed it off. Sad!

@doggedlydetermined7022 BMW did get smart and copy Audi. They built X Drives, which increased sales big time. I still say their best model is M340 and it’s one of my favorites for a sedan under 70k. Amazing B58 engine, performance is excellent, lots of tuning parts now, comfortable, and can drive in all seasons no matter how bad the roads are. That’s why they are selling so many. They copied Audi and did it perfect. M240 is another amazing car. Two door sports car that’s ready for all seasons. X3M40 is amazing for a fun small SUV. Base X5 with B58 is a great value and amazing road vehicle. M50 takes it to another level. So I don’t hate BMW and love what they do have. I know everything about them. The true M models are amazing. They do lack steering feel of a true M car though, but they did that do reduce fatigue. Unfortunately they have had decades worth of problems with reliability with most M engines. M5v10 was amazing, till it became the most unreliable car ever. M3’s with crank hub issues. All the older M’s I can sit here all day with list of issues.

I agree! Best color for it.
